Wow the government is even controlling your body after you die.

I think it is a great idea - instead of people having to state affirmatively that they do indeed wish to be organ donors, the onus is on them to opt out of organ donation. I think most people are fine with the idea of organ donation, but just never actually get around to telling their loved ones their wishes, or signing their donor card. This way, they have to take the time to sign their card as being a non-donor...makes sense to me...also, I think this makes it easier for our shell-shocked loved ones to not have to make the decision to donate our organs when they are bowled over with grief and shock.

I have a dear friend who recently received the gift of life - a new set of lungs, without which she would most certainly have died within a year or two. As it was, it was touch and go while she waited for the transplant. We were very worried we would lose her before she could receive the transplant. Many die while waiting for a life-saving transplant.
