GARY, Ind. - A search team returned to Gary, Indiana on Tuesday to look for a missing mother.

Ariana Taylor was last seen leaving her Merrillville, Indiana apartment complex after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The 23-year-old's Chevrolet Traverse SUV was found eight miles away in Gary, but Taylor hasn't been located.

The father of Taylor's 4-year-old son, who was part of the search Tuesday, said he last exchanged texts with her late Saturday night when she told him she would be by in the morning to pick him up. He said at the time she was out with friends at several bars in Valparaiso. He said her friends brought her home to her parents' house where she then insisted in leaving in her own vehicle.

Gary Police officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Saturday and discovered a vehicle had left I-65 and crashed below the expressway, Gary Police Lt. Dawn Westerfield said.

Indiana State Police took control of the accident scene and are investigating it as a hit-and-run, Westerfield said. State police identified the vehicle as a Chevrolet Traverse and said the accident scene was located at the 261 mile marker near the Interstate 80 overpass.

"Officer foot searches, K-9 searches, helicopter, ATV and dive searches have been conducted with no results," Westerfield said, adding that local hospitals were contacted, also with no results.

Ariana Taylor was last seen wearing a red sweater, ripped blue jeans and gym shoes. On Sunday, Gary police responded to an accident scene near I-65 and the I-80/94 interchange. Police said the vehicle left the expressway and crashed below.

The owner of the vehicle told police Taylor was supposed to be the last person in possession of the vehicle. No one has heard from Taylor since. She was reported missing on Sunday.

Gary police said early Sunday morning they found her SUV crashed and badly damaged about 1,000 yards off the road in a heavily brush covered area near the junction of I-80/94 and I-65. They said no one was inside.

"Had to be doing 80-plus mile per hour," said Gary Police Commander Jack Hamady. "It did not look like that individual used the brakes at all. Went down into a ravine and came to a stop, and had flat tires. Was she being chased? Was she just intoxicated? We're not sure."

Since the car was empty, investigators can't even be sure Ariana was driving the SUV at the time.

"The keys were not in the vehicle. The second phone that the family says she has we don't have," Hamady said.

The hearing for the suspended license charge was supposed to be on April 1 with a Bench Trial in May. A plea agreement for the DWI was filed in late March. She has priors including driving without seatbelts. All of that in my opinion would likely indicate a vehicular crash while impaired or distracted, as opposed to foul play. I didn’t watch the video. Was the vehicle missing a windshield? My guess is she was ejected. She probably took her clothes off due to head injury. The fact that she was able to do that tells me there was probably a significant amount of alcohol in her system. JMO MOO. I hope they find her soon. Sending positive vibes to the family.

I've never seen anything like it! I don't know how to bring any of it over without getting in trouble lol - there are Psychics (plural) with what they see, conspiracy theories naming names, I mean it's just non-stop comments. Wading through it all JMO there are probably some really good clues and I hope somethings pans out. I'm really scared for Ariana and am praying that she is safe.
