This is something that she would not do. She stays connected with her daughters and with her family,” Danyette Smith, a family advocate, said. “They’re afraid. They’re frightened… it’s beyond worried.”

no mention of a husband or boyfriend? sigh. a week is a long time to be missing -

Mother missing for a week, family searching for answers
This case all started after no one saw or heard from the 42-year-old mother on Tuesday, June 9. Her daughter used the "Find my Phone" feature on her mother’s cell and located her car. But the homeowner near where the phone was pinged told Gilbert’s family that she drove to the house but never came inside. When the Gilbert's family asked to take a look around inside, he refused so they ended up calling for police.

Police Seek Help to Find Indianapolis Woman After ‘Suspicious’ Disappearance in June - 93.1FM WIBC

The woman’s daughters tracked Gilbert’s cellphone location, which showed her to be at an address in the Sungate neighborhood just off Girls School Road. McCaleb immediately recognized the address and said it was her mother’s ex-boyfriend’s home.

Snip

Police on Monday reported a similar scene in their request for information. They said Gilbert had gone to the 7000 block of Mars Drive — a road in the Sungate neighborhood — around 6 a.m. that day and that it was the last time she was seen or heard from.

Chenell lost both her husband in 2013 and mother in 2020 to pedestrian vs. MVAs. The video at this link is of an interview she gave after her mother's death in Feb 2020. I can't imagine the sadness Chenell must have carried in her heart. :( I pray her daughters can find their mom soon.

News 8 spoke with Hendrickson’s daughter, Chenelle Gilbert, who said her mother was more than a homeless person and spent the last few years trying to help others.

Gilbert said the tragedy is also a flashback to the death of her husband, who was struck by a car in 2013 by a woman who was having a seizure.

Indianapolis mother went missing in June and hasn't been seen since
[...]

Chenell Gilbert was last seen by her ex-boyfriend on the morning of June 9th. The 42-year-old mother and grandmother has not been seen or heard from since.

"The ex-boyfriend is no longer a person of interest or a suspect, so there are no leads, there is nothing that we can go off of at this time. It's kind of like she vanished into thin air," Smith said."

Back in June, Danyette Smith led a search party scouring the Wayne Township area of Rockville and Girl School Roads for clues, including the nearby housing addition where Gilbert was last seen.

"Her car was last over there as well as her cell phone being pinged before it just vanished as well and no longer had a signal," Smith said.

[...]

IMPD tells WRTV they are still actively looking into this case but there are no new leads and no suspect information to share. Still Chenell's aunt says it is difficult to understand how no one and any information about what happen to her niece.

[...]

IMPD tells WRTV investigators assume Gilbert is not alive, because she has not made any contact with her family. They are asking the community to share new information or tips by reaching out at 262-TIPS or 317-327-3475.

Oh dear...

Officers later found an "article" that belongs to Gilbert near West Morris and South Sigsbee streets, not far from the Windsor Village Apartments, Ross said. That's about a mile south of where Gilbert's car was parked.

Ross said police do not want a description of the item released to the public.
