This would be near his 2nd birthday, wouldn't it? Think of all the fun he should be having. :-(

I've never seen prison orange look as good on anyone else. I still see that poor baby's face in my mind all the time. I pray justice is swift for him.

What about Mom, is she still standing by her man? IIRC, she was at work when Delano was "taken", and was called home by him.

He was a beautiful baby, so very sad.

Taniasha (mom) was home when Delano went missing. She initially said Willie took Delano out for a walk as she was getting into the shower. About an hour later he still hadn't returned so she went down the street looking for them. A witness saw her near the corner of Chase and Oliver.

I'm curious too as to whether or not she's supporting Willie. Mainly because witnesses heard her screaming "God damn, this never should have happened" somewhere between 2:30 and 3:30 am the night before.

Find Delano!!

I'm sooo ready for this trial to begin. There are certain cases that grab me and this is one of them. I'm sure you all have yours too. I tend to react to cases where a parent makes a tearful plea for the return of their child (who isn't really missing) or tells msm that they are a "good" mom/dad. I guess it's the playacting that gets in my craw. I feel the same about phoney baloney FB accounts that make scummy parents look oh so good - cute pics, happy posts - when the reality is that a poor baby is suffering in their home.

Grr. Justice for baby Delano is coming!

Thanks for the link! I see that mom's brother is a State's witness...

Okay, so it looks like the trial date is holding. I couldn't find anything in msm about the pretrial hearing but I saw that in limine motions were heard this morning. INAL, but "limine" means "threshold" in Latin and refers to motions heard prior to the start of a trial regarding evidence. Motions in limine seek to exclude certain pieces of evidence. In Willie's case one motion concerning three pieces of evidence was denied, meaning they are admissible and one motion concerning three pieces of evidence was granted, meaning they are not admissible.

I'm still looking for any info online and so far nothing. I hope we get some news during the trial itself. October 3. Actually, what I'd really like to see is Willie revealing where poor baby Delano's body is. :tears:

Trial has begun, jury selection's done. Opening statements are today.

In opening statements, the prosecutor told jurors from the very first day of the investigation, “There was a big question. Where was Delano? Where was this child?"

Investigators collected a great deal of circumstantial evidence, but no body, no murder weapon and no witness to the alleged murder.

Wilson's attorney told jurors they will be chilled by the story, and bothered by the substantial pieces that are missing.

Prosecutors claim Wilson's story of the attack and abduction is contradicted by security camera videos, and witnesses who saw him that morning.

Investigators say there was a loud disturbance in the home early that morning and found blood in the bathroom and on the baby's blanket.

They also say Wilson used his cell phone to search websites on missing and abducted children more than two hours before he told police baby Delano was stolen from his arms.

Prosecutors are planning to call more than 30 witnesses. The defense isn't calling any. Wilson may testify in his own defense.

The trial is expected to last about a week.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Closing arguments are likely to begin Friday morning in the Willie Wilson murder trial. Prosecutors say they hope to finish making their case to the jury by Thursday evening.

Closing arguments to begin tomorrow? Well, that was quick. No info on what happened at trial or who was called to testify, mostly rehashing what we already know. I guess baby Delano just isn't very newsworthy. :( Maybe there will be more coverage after the verdict. It seems like it would have garnered interest simply because it's a "no body" murder case.

Prosecutors and the defense attorney for Willie Wilson, 25, began opening arguments on Tuesday. Denise Robinson, the lead prosecutor on the case, argued that Wilson faked the kidnapping to cover for Delano's death. Police have said that Wilson told inconsistent stories, and used his computer to search for information on infant abduction statistics before he reported the kidnapping.
...
But defense attorney Ikedigbo Nnaemeka told the jury that there are many missing pieces that prosecutors can't explain.

This is maddening! The news reports are recycled info from the probable cause. I want to know who testified. Delano's mother? Grandmother? What about the truck driver who believed he saw Willie and Taniasha walking along the railroad tracks? And what are those "missing pieces" the defense attorney claims?

Argh! Well, I guess now we wait for a verdict. Closing arguments are set for this afternoon so maybe there will be more in msm later.

Incredible lack of media attention here locally. Infuriating.
