At a Pre-Trial Hearing on Tuesday, October 6, for Nickalas James Kedrowitz, 16, Judge Ryan King kept the trial date set for February 8, 2021 in place.

Double murder trial to begin for Indiana teen accused of killing young siblings

Nickalas J. Kedrowitz, now 15 years old, will be tried as an adult after he was found competent to stand trial in 2019.

Jury selection is expected to begin when the trial gets underway at 9 a.m. in Ripley County Circuit Court in Versailles.

Indiana law allows juveniles as young as 12 to be tried as adults for murder.

Kedrowitz faces 55 years in prison on each murder count when he is sentenced. He is not eligible for the death penalty because of his age.

I somehow missed this when it happened, but oh my I have so many questions. How did mom not know about teen’s temper? Was boyfriend investigated? Why would you leave a young child in a more dangerous situation (bathtub) to tend to children in a less dangerous situation (living room)? Why would you have teen do anything with the little ones when you weren’t sure how the first one died but knew that he was nearby when it happened? So. Many. Questions.
