I saw the comments left on the link earlier so It might be due to the fact someone was discussing details of the murder in the comments, details that haven't been realeased to the public. And all this person would say is they spoke to a detective. (IMO they did seem legit) Then there were a few others who know IH personally saying he didn't do it and arguments were ensuing.

I was born and raised in Newburgh and people love to talk.

Seems odd the two dates are withheld. I know the soccer field where Halee died and was found was in Evansville, but did IH live in Evansville? I thought he lived in Owensboro.

What does "preliminarily charged" mean? :thinking:

I think he was arrested and is awaiting his probable cause hearing - i.e. it didn't go to a grand jury. But they could also mean they are considering other/additional charges.

I've seen both addresses- he was a USI student so he may live in Evansville for school.

The article from WFIE said "Isaiah Hagan of Evansville". He went to school in Owensboro from 2013-2015 I think.

I have two theories on what could have happened based on the charges. I think I'm going to wait to see if they release the probable cause affidavit today first to avoid speculating- but if they don't, I'll write it up.

On Saturday evening Isaiah Hagan, (Halee's ex-boyfriend) was arrested for the murder of Halee. He has preliminary charges of murder, robbery and obstruction. No other information has been released yet. We're hoping more information is released today.

The Warrick County Sheriff's Office jailed a man Saturday in connection with the slaying of a Newburgh woman, but haven't divulged details about the arrest.

Isaiah Hagan, 22, faces preliminary charges of murder, robbery and obstruction of justice. He's currently lodged at the Warrick County Jail awaiting formal charges.

Makes me wonder if friends and family knew he wasn't taking classes at USI? :thinking:

Here's a summary of what we know based on MSM, LE, and HR/IH social media. I'm still thinking about my theories, but I think it was either a domestic violence incident where IH brought her to the soccer fields and killed her spur of the moment, or other people were involved in some way - i.e. a robbery that went badly.

WHAT WE KNOW:

• IH was a varsity soccer player as a junior at KWC in 2015.(1) For some reason, he left KWC in 2016. On social media, confirmed by the Courier Press, Hagan said that he was attending USI.(2) USI released a statement saying Hagan was NOT a student, and they have no record of him enrolled or taking classes.(2)

• Hagan identified himself as Halee's exboyfriend to the media.(3) He also told a reporter who contacted him that he was praying for Halee and hoped whoever did this would be found.(4) IH and Halee still followed each other on Facebook and Twitter, and as late as 4/17/2017 Halee “liked” Hagan’s posts.(5) There’s no public mention of a breakup or difficulties. In September 2016, Halee posted a picture of gifts from “bae” and Hagan retweeted the tweet.(6) On the night of the murder, IH tweeted “Chill *** Sunday” with a whiskey glass emoji – he may have been drinking.(7)

• Halee’s body was found in the Alcoa soccer fields complex at 6:45AM. The coroner ruled her death a homicide, via one gunshot through her head. The Warrick County coroner also stated that “no other significant physical injuries” were found on Halee’s body.(8)

• Isaiah Hagan was arrested and charged with murder, robbery (felony), and obstruction of justice (felony). He is being held awaiting arraignment.(8) Since Halee’s murder, LE has arrested a number of 18-22 year olds on drug-related charges.(9) A number have had high bond set, and they remain in jail. A number seem to be people Halee was connected to on social media.(10) It is unclear if there is any connection to Halee’s murder. In LE’s statement, they thanked the U.S. Marshal Service – the USMS deals with capturing fugitives and federal arrest warrants, so I’m not sure what role they played and if it was connected to the drug arrests.

Because Halee is in the same age group, grew up in the area and it's a relatively small community I don't find it unusual for her to be connected (via social media) to some of the people recently arrested. However, I do find it peculiar that the USMS is involved. That, along with the arrests and IH not attending USI as he stated leads me to think we might hear a twist or two as things move forward. :scared:

Unless the reason is related to money, academics, lifestyle changes, mental status, etc., it doesn't make sense that he would walk away from obtaining a college degree. Maybe he had a scholarship for the first couple of years and could no longer afford it or he was cut off of financial aid for academic reasons. It's hard to say without speculating too much. MOO
