In one of her updates she mentions that they checked to see if EC had the milk and cigarettes that she said she bought at the store while Jada was in the car. EC didn't have either.:furious:

(about 30 minutes have passed since starting this post... and I have just read almost all of the forum on Gary and I just want to say that I now understand why the gang unit was called in for evidence of drugs being found in the house. Hands down... it is most likely normal business for them in that town!! This is NOT a good area for this precious child to be missing from! And the area needs to be considered in this case as per what may have happened to her... moo.. but what I have read about the gas stations, the vagrancy, random and senseless violence... I just need a shower!)

All the more reason why she shouldn't of left Jada in a car by herself... although right now I believe that is a cover story.

Search for Jada continues

The search for Jada Justice continued into its fifth day Sunday, but there have been no breaks in the case, FBI spokeswoman Wendy Osborne said.

The Portage toddler, almost 3 years old, has been missing since Tuesday night, when her baby sitter and cousin Engelica Castillo said Jada was taken from a gas station in Gary's Glen Park neighborhood.

Family and friends have canvassed the region pleading for the girl's return.

Police officials from Gary and Hobart, along with the FBI, plan a joint meeting today with Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter to talk about the case.

Reading this, it seems LE knows more than they are saying:

"Police presented Carter's office with a request for a charge of neglect of a child this week against somebody connected with the disappearance, but the prosecutor declined to approve the charge."

It could be the prosecutor wants to find Jada first before any arrests are made.

I agree with you.

They could charge EC with neglect since she is the one that reports that she left Jada in the car, couldn't they? Not that I believe that that is what happened.

From what the press has told us I don't understand why LE is focused on EC. Its just as likely to me that she was covering for her boyfriend with the story.

His burns are very disturbing to me.

The explanation for the dog in heat being in the crib makes sense. Not that I can even imagine doing that, but sadly I can see them doing that. If that is what happened it could imply that Jada was gone from the house for longer than what is being reported or that EC and TT put the dog in there because they knew Jada was not going to need the crib anymore.:shakehead:

LE either needs evidence or for EC and TT to turn on one another. Maybe The arrest was just a ploy to encourage that? I dunno. :shakehead:

I wonder why EC and TT weren't cited for having the drugs in their home?

My dd walked in the room today as I was watching the news and asked me" is that another one missing?!" it's a shame when a 10 yr old notices missing children/ babies and is digusted with the situation. *sigh*

She looks so much like the child of a friend of mine that this just breaks my heart.

I think the cousin knows exactly where that baby is. If I were the mother I would be begging (beating! Okay, I didn't type that, it was the devil in me.) her to tell me, no matter what the outcome. I cannot imagine what the mother is going through because this is her own cousin, someone she trusted.

Per HLN the boyfriend will not talk about his burns or where he got them from to LE but it looks like he would have to get or has already gotten treatment for them or they would lead to infection. Im not going back through this whole thread to see but i wonder if any of the drugs were meth or if he has any involvement with the drug because meth labs do explode. It may or may not have anything to do with it,just throwing it out there.

Clarence Justice, Jade's dad, is a father different from many I've seen lately. He has been verbal and involved while taking a pro-active stance on behalf of his daughter; he was passing out fliers from the very beginning and immediately put up a $5,000.00 reward. When I see a picture of adorable Jade, she reminds me of a a little daddy's girl - one he took pleasure in spoiling and loving. To all the father's in the world who make a positive difference in the life of children - happy belated Father's Day!

The Boyfriend has he been charged yet? Hopefully after the meeting today with the FBI they will charge him.

The fact that the ATF is assisting the investigation strongly suggests that fire is something being looked at in this case.
