I hope they don't move his trial...what else does he get out of having his trial moved? Can't just be the jury...unless this is truly on his Lawyer's advice..seems dramatic to me ..so I tend to think this is on JBC's insistence. Does he get moved to a nicer jail? does he get a road trip with hotels and pizzas and hanging out with the FBI or LE?

and what if they find him guilty? does he get a different set of prisons to choose from?

I don't know about this stuff, but to me JBC knows the game and is playing it.

Chadwell's attorney successfully got a change of venue in a previous case in 2019. It didn't get moved to one of the counties he preferred, but it did get moved out of the county he really didn't want the case to be tried in: Hamilton County picked for Lafayette suspect's trial

This makes me think that Chadwell's attorney is fairly competent. As a sidenote, the case that changed venues ended in a plea deal anyway so the fact that they are asking for this now in Chadwell's case means nothing as to whether a plea will ultimately be struck.

I read somewhere on here that he’s acting like a celebrity with wanting a change of venue. IMO, it’s not going to matter where his trial is.

Oh yes I'm sure he thinks of himself as a celebrity prisoner who everyone is super interested in...and trust me he is PROUD of the things he has done...and in reality he is NOT an interesting guy..he is not an evil genius. He will still be televised though and if they connect him to other cases he will be the subject of much media.

I wonder which big $$$ writers are already considering a book and if they think JBC is going to be charged.

I am reading a book about Tony Costa and I really see many similarities..it's called The Babysitter...

added: Tony Costa killed very young women, but his personality and other aspects of his crimes remind me of JBC in a way..probably typical of a type of Serial Killer. mOO

Ugh, it gives me chills. Where would it be televised?

well his sentencing will be televised his interviews will be recorded and appear in crime shows etc. and he will be allowed to testify as to his acts if he wishes in court...I think most people turn off to child killers and won't want to hear from him or see his face...the story will be more about how a man with a record like JBC's was able to fly under the radar and be wanted for crimes in so many counties etc...and how he was finally caught and convicted.

He's not going to be a fascinating subject..trust me.

I would imagine authorities are maneuvering to convince him to talk about other crimes he is involved in. I would think he is more likely to talk knowing that he is going away for a long time and to take away any chance of a death penalty being played out in the future. Looks like he will be an Indiana resident for a long time.
Just my own opinion.

LE doesn't want one iota of anything leaked on JBC so that he can use it and have an advantage for his defense later down the line. Funny how JBC is the one using Delphi now for his defense..how JBC is attaching himself now...

Excellent point.

Then they need to update the principles. Today’s society is much different than it was way back when. No way should a child under 16 be forced to look into the eyes of the person who sexually abused, beat, tortured or kidnapped them. They have already been traumatized for the rest of their lives, they don’t need to go back and re-live the horror all over again. IMO

I testified at 8 yrs old and wish this had been an option! I also did some sort of "stake out" with a police officer in hiding while I tried to lure the predator back on the playground. I always wonder if that sort of thing is still done.

I would think that the the testimony of the police officer that rescued her and her medical records are enough!

I can't imagine going through that! Incredibly brave

It just slays me that there are no updates on the murders of Abbie and Libby. I cannot imagine what this must be like for their families. Is it a cold case now? They’ve have JBC in custody for weeks now, had to have ripped his house up looking for clues or evidence and yet nothing, nada, zip has been said! I’m beginning to think JBC is not the BG. IMO

It's only been four months. They might not even have lab results, cell phone records, and other stuff back yet. They already have him in jail, so they're going to take their time building a solid case, if there is one to be built.

Don’t you think they’ve had him in their scope from day one? A career criminal, living in the area, looks like the sketch, walks like the sketch, posts taunting photos and comments, reports from friends, neighbors, relatives all wanting a piece FD that reward money? Four years and six months and still nothing from LE. IMO

Yes. I actually think they questioned him. I read that somewhere but can't remember where so it's moo for now.

Possibly--I imagine they have a rather long list of people on their radar. But that wouldn't have any bearing on how long it would take to process the evidence they seized from his home after his arrest.

I've asked myself about when people are in and out of prison, as he has been, what does one do with their stuff while incarcerated? Their treasures. Either have someone hold it for them or get rid of it I guess. So, where would it be?
I think it's in the form of tattoos on his body. He can take that anywhere. But how good is that evidence, if not from the victim itself?
Kinda creepy to think about.

One of the saddest things about going through his Facebook was seeing his sketches and drawings and realizing he has a fair amount of untrained talent and he could have been something besides a monster. It didn't have to happen this way.

I agree. After reading his Facebook entries, viewing his photos, drawings, and watching his TikTok videos, he’s very puzzling. He comes off as articulate, sincere, and dare I say, sensitive. If I didn’t know about his criminal past and most recent arrest, he appears to be a lost and lonely man.
But on the other hand, look at his criminal past and what some of his family members have said about him. Evil, capable of murdering Abbie and Libby and perhaps many others before them. I guess you could say he’s a master manipulator. Like all of his photos of camping under bridges and train tracks. <modsnip>
Those odd selfies of him off to the side, focusing instead on his camp fires, fishing, kayaking, always with that creepy smirking and talking, as if he has an audience. He’s very disturbed. IMO
