I always thought they kept the pedophiles or at least the sex offenders together to avoid these kinds of incidents.
If they don't segregate him he may not be around for a trial.

They have separate facilities for sexual offenders in Indiana but that doesn't extend to local/county jails. That will only be after sentencing.

Oh, ok. Then I imagine he might have a few more trips to the infirmary before he gets to prison. Oh well.

Also inmates may start a fight so they will be segregated. Per his FB post I don't think he thinks of it as a bad idea and doesn't look like it would be his first time. Log into Facebook

Which brings to mind, again, I wonder if he kept in touch with any previous jail mates/cellmates - Birds of a feather, especially when it comes to child 🤬🤬🤬🤬, jmo.

That has crossed my mind.
JBC just seems like such a dangerous prisoner why would they put a guy that had nude pics of his gf with him? mmmmmm
That’s a good question.
Maybe it's answered.
Yes, first he is, walking through the, jail unshackled, not even cuffed, now he has a cell mate?
RL shackled 4 ways, in orange jumpsuit for driving while suspended.

Apparently he’s not on suicide watch. or do they put someone else in a cell with one on suicide watch?
plus it sounds like someone let that fight happen.
Probably some argument too before it began.
My thoughts exactly. That happens alot.

Is he wearing a stun vest by chance? Maybe they just thought there wasn't far for him to go and plenty of people there?

Chadwell was involved in jail fight and needed medical treatment
Lafayette accused child abductor needs medical treatment after fight
He may have been ok in jail before because his crimes were not against children but this is going to be so bad for him now.
Eta jmo

Looked up the guy involved in the fight. He's just as bad as JBC imo.

Lafayette man re-arrested the day after posting bail

He beat up his pregnant girlfriend (presumably a different woman) a couple of years ago.

He definitely had jail mates on facebook. Even some of them were "shocked" at what he did. Though certainly just MOO, I felt he made some pretty decent friends in prison and half way houses...

I think he did, going by his FB posts. They seemed to be shocked at what he had done. I think everyone he knew condemned his actions. He probably kept that side of himself a secret. In fact he presented himself as a tough guy who would beat up child molesters. Imo

I think even criminals who beat up women consider themselves in a different category than men who abuse and molest little girls. Imo

I'd think most of society would place the two into completely different categories.

I agree that doesn’t seem right, but I would guess it probably had more with being different locations. Carroll county, population 20k probably has a lot less manpower and resources then Tippecanoe county, population 195k.

I think it has to do with handling Chadwell with kid gloves... there cannot appear to be any rush to judgement in terms of him now being looked at as a suspect. I agree with others that his cell mate may have been put there as some kind of sympathetic ear.

I think they are just keeping him on ice..trying the nice approach..because right now he is still just accused and suspected..also they may try ignoring him for a period ..I imagine he knows what is going on via his attorney. I wonder what rights he has in a county jail.

it will be interesting to see what happens with his representation in court too, although I cant imagine any pro bono defense volunteering..it could happen for exposure as this could become a major high profile case...but it's so ugly I don't think so.

I find his violence in this particularly heinous...as beating up a nine year old little girl is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard. He needs to be protected right now as they need him to be talking. mOO

In prison I believe they separate them but Chadwell is in a jail right now.

Not even the slightest bit surprised.

The guy fights without hesitation.

I suspect he will fight in jail again.

jmo
Oh I hope so. And lose again and many times over.

Our county jail has a specific block for sex offenders. Each block houses around 30 or 40 inmates. Its all part of GP. There's an entirely separate wing for guys like Chadwell. Rapists, murderers, kidnappers, attempted murders, etc are all housed together in maximum custody separate from GP. They have a completely different set of rules. GP is essentially like a college dorm and maximum custody is Congo.
No idea how it is up there in Tippecanoe, but seeing a guy with the charges Chadwell has being escorted without handcuffs is crazy.

Ding, ding, ding! I agree with "someone let that fight happen." JMO IMO
