Now why would James allow an inmate to beat his face to the point where he needed medical attention? I got tickled over the headline bc there is no sympathy for JBC. None at all!

James Brian Chadwell II — the man accused of abducting and assaulting a 9-year-old girl — lost a jail fight, according to the sheriff's office. Lafayette accused child abductor needs medical treatment after fight

Have there been any updates on how the unnamed victim is doing? Is she out of the hospital, I wonder, and if so, when did she get out? Does she have long term injuries?

Our county jail has a specific block for sex offenders. Each block houses around 30 or 40 inmates. Its all part of GP. There's an entirely separate wing for guys like Chadwell. Rapists, murderers, kidnappers, attempted murders, etc are all housed together in maximum custody separate from GP. They have a completely different set of rules. GP is essentially like a college dorm and maximum custody is Congo.
No idea how it is up there in Tippecanoe, but seeing a guy with the charges Chadwell has being escorted without handcuffs is crazy.

supposedly he had "facial injuries" from the fight- but in the News18 video above, I do not see anything like that-could this be some old footage- not anything current?

also, the video says "more in trouble with the law"- does that mean that JBC started the fight or would both detainees be punished?

I haven't seen any updates about her at all.

I’ve been thinking about JBC’s new “cell mate” and this whole thing just doesn’t seem right to me.

Typically sex offenders are housed separately as they are the lowest of the low. It’s for their protection.

Here we have JBC who is a high profile inmate. Not only was he caught red handed doing unthinkable things to a little girl but he is also being investigated for a connection to Abby and Libby. The last thing LE wants is for JBC to turn up dead before they can figure out IF HE IS CONNECTED.

Why……why would you give him a cell mate at this most delicate time and risk the whole investigation getting stopped in it’s tracks.? It makes no sense unless, his new roomie is a plant, i.e., undercover LE or Informant.

Something to consider because it makes no sense otherwise.

We need this dude to get to trial, I think he should be segregated in jail as the cons will probably know what he's in for and what else he may be getting looked at for (it would be an awful blow to the families if he perished before justice is meted out). JMOO

According to the news article linked in a post above, the 25 yo cellmate was accused of having nude pictures of his 17 yo girlfriend on his cellphone. Legally that is child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and would make them both accused of child sex crimes. Like you, I feel that the possible link to Delphi and high profile nature of that case should be reasons to have Chadwell housed alone.

the clip of him in the News18 show is the exact same footage as in the "family members " interview from 4/30/21, so before his fight.

do not see how they can say much of anything without violating her rights as a minor, violating HIPPA, prejudicing a jury, etc. etc.

In prison I believe they separate them but Chadwell is in a jail right now.
Yes, he will be in jail until he's convicted. I still think some jails separate inmates for their own safety or they put them in solitary confinement. Imo

I think his attorney has asked for a continuance for the next hearing. Cases might still be held back because of covid, too. Imo

Maybe he will confess on the Delphi case for a safer situation.

You mean in the sense of a plea deal: If he admits (with supporting facts) to the Delphi murders, he gets protection, or the death penalty is taken off the table, etc.?

I think it is in the State's interest to protect him and I don't know for certain but they're probably obligated to as well.

They know he's a coming. No guessing game. They know!

I don't think it would do any good without evidence. LE has kept details about the murders from the public for good reason. Only the killer would know details about how the girls died. Imo

Right and transferred out of state to a different prison system.
