@Niner I had to go back and refresh my memory on these cases; too many murderers to keep track of.

I think we posted about the 19 yo victim, Maurtreyviaun (Trey) Sanders, in the beginning but I'm going to bring the article forward. He seemed like such a nice kid. Before he died, he said they were trying to rob him. They shot him in the neck/shoulder.

Plead not guilty. Held without bond.

@Niner Covid problems... I wonder how many other counties will push theirs back. Marion states that nearly 40 of its vaccinated and unvaccinated court staff members have tested positive over the last few days.

Jury trials delayed in Marion, Madison and Bartholomew County

Marion County saying all jury trials “will be continued and reset after Jan. 21, 2022.”
Madison County will push back its jury trials until Jan. 17.
Batholomew County is suspending jury trials until Jan. 21, at which time the situation will be re-evaluated.

Thanks @FrostedGlass - and yeah strange they need another 5 months to get ready for trial - you would think they were ready yesterday!! Maybe because of covid they want to make sure they can get thru with this one. Any bets??!! LOL!

Oh - and I'm going to put both of them on the same date since that is the way it has been before.

All bets are off with some of these murder trials. I think that "fast and speedy trial' thing gets completely forgotten. Seems like so many continuances clog the courts even more and cost more money. Of course, not much can be done when covid interferes.

I don't think it's regarding his appeal - is there a date for that yet? It's to do with the Javon plus murders - so nothing, eh?

The appeal claimed an issue with him being sentenced consecutively for the three murders. The opinion was returned as decided with prosecution.
