The trial date is set for the Newburgh man accused in the death of his girlfriend’s baby, 10 month old Jaxson Wheeler. Thaddious Rice is charged with Murder and Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death.

Authorities say the official cause of death was hemorrhaging due to blunt head trauma.

The trial is set to begin October 16, 2018.

Darn, I was popping my popcorn ready for trial to start in a couple of weeks. This needs life in prison for what he did to this baby. I still think he was responsible for the death of Halee Rathgeber.

In the episode, investigators detail that after Hagan's arrest they recovered a towel from the Hagan home that was the same type and color as a towel from the Hagan home. They also discovered a missing gun and learned that Hagan paid his father $210 that he owed him the morning after Halee was killed.

Family and authorities in the episode talked about the suspicion initially cast on Thaddeus Rice, a friend of Halee's who was implicated in the death of his infant son, Jackson Wheeler. The family believed Halee may have given police information on Rice at some point as she was suspicious of the circumstances surrounding the child's death.

I too felt like TR might be in some part responsible/involved in Halee’s death while following her thread. I would have liked to see further investigation into “the babybag by the door” that Halee and her friend saw at Baby Jackson’s home which they felt disproved TRs story. (Statements from dateline video). I hope that Halee and/or her friend spoke to detectives in a timely enough manner that it would matter. Both Halee and Baby Jackson deserved so much more from life. I still think he had something to do with Halee's murder. I don't believe IH just decided to out of nowhere kill his ex and good friend. I just don't think saying Thadd made me do it would have gotten him off so they didn't even bring it up.

Yep, completely agree with you. I think Halee knew exactly what happened to this poor baby and that's a strong motive for TR to kill her or arrange for her to be killed.
