Found Safe IN - Joseph Carmer, 76, Nashville, Brown County, 28 Mar 2019

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the disappearance of Joseph L. Carmer, a 76 year old white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 183 pounds, brown/gray hair with blue eyes, last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and has a “Mom” tattoo on his right forearm.

Joseph is missing from Nashville, Indiana which is 62 miles south of Indianapolis and was last seen on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 5:30 pm. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Oh my goodness. We have had so many seniors with dementia go missing lately. I wonder if that is the case here?

According to the Sheriff's FB post, he wandered from his residence in the 2900 block of Mt Liberty Road. It looks heavily wooded. Google Maps

Wow, the area is heavily wooded indeed and it's night time now. I wonder if the search is suspended for the night because of how wooded the area is? This is not good.

Silver alert issued for missing Brown County man

Joseph Carmer left his home at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday, according to a press release from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

Just before 6 p.m. police were dispatched to a home in the 2900 block of Mt. Liberty Road in reference to the missing man.

Deputies conducted an immediate search yesterday for Carmer and requested a K9 from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.

After being unable to find Carmer with the K9, thermal imaging drones were requested from the Bargersville Police Department and Columbus Fire Department. Ground support from South Brown Volunteer Fire Department, Southwest Volunteer Fire Department and Cordry-Sweetwater Volunteer Fire Department was also requested, according to the press release.

Utility terrain vehicles from the Brown County (Nashville) Volunteer Fire Department and Hamblen Township Volunteer Fire Department were requested as well.

According to dispatch traffic this morning, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department was also sending a drone to the area of Mt. Liberty Road to assist in the search.

A helicopter with thermal imaging searched the area as well, but was unsuccessful, the press release states.

Around 40 people from public safety were involved in the search. It was suspended at 1:50 a.m. today. The search resumed at 8 a.m.
