Kaylah Ann Farmer, who was the wife of Joshua Farmer, suffered 15 bullet wounds, according to court documents.

A woman, later identified as Kaylah, was
found dead inside a maroon van at the gas station.

A witness told 13News a man leaning out of the passenger window of a Kia Soul was seen firing at least 10 shots at the van. Another nearby witness told police they believed they "heard a total of thirty to forty total shots fired" at the gas station

According to a probable cause affidavit for Joshua's arrest, video footage from the gas station analyzed by police led them to believe Joshua attacked Kaylah from three different locations — the front passenger door, the front bumper, and the front driver’s door — just after she pulled up to a gas pump.

Police believe Joshua used his ex-girlfriend's Kia Soul to drive up, then ambushed Kaylah at the gas station, according to court documents.

An autopsy report noted detectives found more than 15 gunshot wounds on Kaylah's body and removed more than 25 bullet fragments from her body.

Court documents reveal that the deadly shooting wasn’t the first instance of violence in the Farmer’s relationship. On June 1, Noblesville police investigated a battery reported against Joshua Farmer.

According to the report, Joshua Farmer was accused of punching and choking Kaylah in front of their three children on May 21. While battering Kaylah and ripping off her clothes, Joshua reportedly told her that “she was going to learn today.”

Joshua then is accused of pointing a gun at both Kaylah and their oldest child and asking her to choose between his life or their child’s, according to the report.

Good question. The articles I have read so far are very vague on the details of the legal status of the previous incidents. I have a lot of questions as well.

Prosecutors to seek the death penalty in fatal Fishers gas station shooting

Prosecutors on Wednesday filed a notice to seek the death penalty for the man who fatally shot his ex-wife outside a Fishers gas station.

Kaylah Farmer later died of her injuries. Fishers police Det. Jonathan Dossey observed the autopsy and said in a probable cause affidavit that he counted “more than 15 gunshot wounds” on her body.
