GUILTY IN - Kegan Anthony Kline, 27, arrested Aug 29, 2020, 30 Counts associated with CSAM

I’m glad KK got such a long sentence but I’m concerned about how much of it he is likely to serve and if it is likely to be reduced when he appeals the length of it. I believe he is incredibly dangerous and that he should never be released.

Ugh, look at this guys court docket, he was charged with 11 different sex crimes, range of all 1-6 level felonies, 9 were dismissed, pled to 2 level 3 felonies and got 18 years (9 years each served consecutive). Look who the judge is-FG! Not enough time imo for all that!

I wonder how long that guy had been abusing those children.
I'm often astounded at the sentences I've seen handed out.

New Murder Sheet podcast; KAK's sentencing

  • #666
“Knight testified Kline was aware of his association with the Delphi murders case, as police claimed the anthony_shots account was the last to communicate with Libby German, and capitalize on that to get money in jail.”

The keen interest by some in KK, I wonder if he was given payment for his past interviews.

According to Angela Ganote's (Fox 59) Facebook, KAK flipped off their cameras on his way out of court. Wonder what he was truly expecting?
Like I commented previously - he's sorry he got caught. moo

New Murder Sheet podcast; KAK's sentencing
Very well worth a listen to get a better idea of the context of what we saw in yesterday's tweets. All I can say is that KAK being in prison now, unable to harm any other children, is directly because of L and A's case, and something to bring meaning to their deaths, even if their murders end up being unrelated.

I also have to say that, imo, a lot of what we saw in that 2020 KAK transcript was likely not LE lying. They didn't have to lie. That's just what the evidence was. The veracity of the Delphi discussion in the transcripts is unknown, but it's worth thinking about. Jmo.

They sure didn't waste any time shipping him out. He's already at the Reception Diagnostic Center in Plainfield, IN. I'm going to check back for his earliest possible release date.

Here's one part of the "Sentenced" entry of his case; it's broken down in a total of three different ways.

The Court also FINDS that each of the following constitutes a separate “episode of
criminal conduct,” as defined in I.C. 35-50-1-2(b):
• EPISODE 1 (Count 1);
• EPISODE 2 (Count 2);
• EPISODE 3 (Count 3);
• EPISODE 4 (Counts 4, 5, 6, and 7);
• EPISODE 5 (Counts 8 and 9);
• EPISODE 6 (Counts 10, 16, and 17);
• EPISODE 7 (Counts 13, 18, 19, and 20);
• EPISODE 8 (Counts 11 and 12);
• EPISODE 9 (Count 14);
• EPISODE 10 (Count 15);
• EPISODE 11 (Count 21);
• EPISODE 12 (Count 22); and
• EPISODE 13 (Counts 23, 24, and 25).

Do they only have part of his sentences calculated? The court seemed to be sending them in part and I wonder if we caught them in the middle of totaling them?

  • A person (1) who is not a credit restricted felon; and (2) who is imprisoned for a Level 6 felony or a misdemeanor or imprisoned awaiting trial or sentencing for a Level 6 felony or misdemeanor.
  • Serve 1 actual day; earn 1 credit day.

Credit Class B:

I don't know. I need someone to explain the sentencing to me like I'm 5! It seems like there should be more, where are the Possession of CP sentences?

I'm going to break my post up a bit for those who are on their phones.

From 2020; I couldn't easily find anything from 2017, when he did the crimes.
(b) As used in this section, "episode of criminal conduct" means offenses or a connected series of offenses that are closely related in time, place, and circumstance.

From KAK's sentencing order.
The Court also FINDS that each of the following constitutes a separate “episode of
criminal conduct,”
as defined in I.C. 35-50-1-2(b):
• EPISODE 1 (Count 1);
• EPISODE 2 (Count 2);
• EPISODE 3 (Count 3);
• EPISODE 4 (Counts 4, 5, 6, and 7);
• EPISODE 5 (Counts 8 and 9);
• EPISODE 6 (Counts 10, 16, and 17);
• EPISODE 7 (Counts 13, 18, 19, and 20);
• EPISODE 8 (Counts 11 and 12);
• EPISODE 9 (Count 14);
• EPISODE 10 (Count 15);
• EPISODE 11 (Count 21);
• EPISODE 12 (Count 22); and
• EPISODE 13 (Counts 23, 24, and 25).
********************************************************
The Court determines that the Defendant’s aggregate sentences for each of those 13 episodes of criminal conduct shall be consecutive with each other.

I can't find a good definition for Indiana aggregate sentencing but two other states agree that it's the combination of 2 or more consecutive sentences combined.

From the IN DOC, this is how his sentence will be served (I removed some info for easier reading). It seems the judge divided his sentence into 4 parts and he won't be released until each one is served.
"The Defendant shall receive credit against his sentence on Count 1 for having already served 1,072 actual days in the Miami County Jail (from August 19, 2020, through July 26, 2023) and having earned 357 days of good time credit, for a total credit of 1,429 days."
