KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Unidentified human remains were found by a swamp Thursday afternoon by people walking in Kosciusko County, according to the sheriff's office.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's deputies were called around 3 p.m. to a property near State Road 13 and Old Road 30 after walkers spotted what is believed to be human remains, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. The remains were found near a swamp on the edge of a field and several hundred yards off of the roadway.
Investigators searched the area for potential evidence, according to the release. It is not clear if investigators found any evidence in the area.
The remains will be taken to the the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center for examination, according to the coroner's office.
The incident is still under investigation.
