There is something about this CR that isn't quite right. First he gets into some sort of a scrape with some "boys" at the Smallwood, then he gets in another altercation at the apartment they go to next, then it turns out witnesses say he was "acting aggressively" that night. A pattern is beginning to emerge.

Yes, it is possible to be a belligerent drunk and have your date abducted by a stranger while you sleep it off. Women do get abducted by strangers while walking home late at night. Still, CR has to be looked at very hard. Realistically, few middle class college kids will lie to cover up a friend's murder of his girl friend. They are more likely to lie to keep a friend "out of trouble" if they believe he is actually innocent but the "truth" might raise questions.

From CR's (Male companion #1) attorney:

Police have said she visited two apartments there. Salzmann said there was another "confrontation" that morning at CR's building, but he would not elaborate.

Spierer was last seen rounding a corner on her way back to her apartment -- a half-mile away -- about 4:15 a.m. Salzmann said CR was not the last one to see Spierer that morning; three or four others saw her after CR.

This is where the Jewish vandalism might play a part. In Dec 2010, acts of violence against the Jewish community at Indiana University was widely reported by the media and even the FBI got involved. Just google "indiana university" and "anti semitism" and you'll see lots of reports.

Lauren's friends were talking about these problems yesterday on the facebook page and one of her boyfriend's close friends even said something like "that's why tribes stick together"...

Very, very true. Nobody though the Craigslist killer was capable of murdering people, IIRC.

To go along with your point, I think it's telling that the police haven't issued a statement warning women of a predator even though they admitted that they believe this is a case of foul play.

It has been a good teaching tool for my almost 12 year old daughter, who doesn't understand why I don't let her walk a block with her friends to the fire station for a soda. We walked Lauren Spierer's last known walk and she got to see just how close Lauren was to her apartment when she disappeared.

Respectfully, BBM.

What's in the alley?

I'm not even sure if I would call it an alley. I guess technically it is, but it isn't the type that are in bigger cities between two buildings close together. It's a dirt road that is used by construction workers (there has been a *lot* of construction going on in that area for quite some time). It's pretty unremarkable.

Don't believe Lauren's BF had anything to do with this:

Her father [said] she has been in a "very close, loving relationship" with her boyfriend, an Indiana University student from Long Island whom she met years earlier at a summer camp in Pennsylvania. He has helped in the search for her.

This site seems to write their articles with a spin that Rossman is the bad guy... I wonder if their gut feeling is right or if it's just poor journalism trying to label someone as guilty.

Given where their apartments are I'd say they have cars, simply because those are pricey apartments so I think it's a safe assumption that these kids come from money.

There are a lot of rural areas surrounding Bloomington, but most students (who aren't from the area) never bother to venture out there.

That's what leads me to believe that this was a stranger/opportunity abduction. I searched for hours yesterday and there are so many people looking--if she were nearby I think someone would have seen *something*. If she was taken and then dumped somewhere (that's horrible to say...) I think it would be by a local.

Lake Monroe is several miles away but Griffy Lake isn't far from campus at all. It's only a couple of miles from Memorial Stadium/Assembly Hall.

Question....maybe someone has googled and posted this, but what is meant by "pricey" apartments. From the picture, they did not look that nice or in any way fancy. My own first thought was that I would have been very uncomfortable in terms of security if my daughter had lived in any place like that while in college. The building appeared to be one of the older, close to downtown/campus type buildings where students without cars might have to live in order to be closer to classes.

From what I have read, CR is not her "boyfriend". My understanding is that they had met only a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the "boyfriend" wasn't around that night and isn't considered a POI. Am I correct?

http://www.examiner.com/headlines-i...f-last-man-to-see-missing-ny-coed-is-revealed
Police have identified and interviewed the friend whose apartment missing Westchester County co-ed Lauren Spierer was last seen leaving at 4:30 a.m. on Friday.

Other students encountered Spierer, 20, and CR as they left the building. The New York Post interviewed those students who state that Spierer was intoxicated and that CR appeared to be bothering her and became angry when they asked him to back off. One of the students is reported to have said, "He was being overly aggressive … being so belligerent."

Interesting...one took the time to point out that CR was being aggressive and belligerent, one or another may have punched him, yet they left their intoxicated female friend/acquaintance with him. Doesn't mean they are responsible for LS going missing, yet doesn't necessarily ring true to me. One can see why LE would like LDTs.

The building is actually quite new. I've never been inside and have no idea how nice the actual apartments are, but they are right downtown and anything in downtown Bloomington is very expensive (my 3 bedroom townhouse a couple of miles away is cheaper than a studio apartment on the square).

Edited to clarify: What I mean by 'pricey' is that the location of the apartment means a much higher rent, not that the apartments are nice at all. Varsity Villas, an apartment complex right across from the stadium, is a drunken hovel but tenants there pay a lot of money because of where it's at.

If CR possibly suffered a concussion from the first altercation, perhaps he sought medical treatment upon wakening on Friday, or after he met with his attorney. Or perhaps, he was simply very, very intoxicated and did black out, and truly knows absolutely nothing about what happened to LS.

Here's a bit of clarification on Lauren's boyfriend:
http://tucsoncitizen.com/usa-today-news/2011/06/09/friends-car-searched-in-missing-indiana-student-case/

Lauren’s boyfriend, Jesse Wolff, 22, of Port Washington, N.Y., a senior, became worried Friday morning after she did not respond to text messages he sent to her cellphone. She’d left her phone — and her shoes — in a bar before she disappeared. “He was waiting for her to text him, to say come over and hang out,” Roude said. “Jesse was really worried. He went to Hadar’s’ class to get her key.” She said Wolff was not part of the circle of friends she’d been with the night she disappeared.

Yes, CR is NOT LS's boyfriend.

I have been inside them, granted it was about 5 years ago but they are quite nice, especially by college-town standards. They probably have better security than at least 80% of the other off-campus, non-university apartments. I never lived in a place that had any kind of security cameras or key cards. Plus, they are right in the "heart" of downtown Bloomington.

Yes....I went to their website, the price per bedroom whether for a 2,3, or 4 bedroom unit varies from about $600 to $625 per month. That would be about average for a close in complex near a university in that area. However, the website mentioned nothing about door coded security or on site security officers or even locked entry access at all. I assume that there was, but maybe not.......

"He got punched in the face. He has no memory of that, or of the 15 minutes leading to that moment. The first memory he has is the next morning when he wakes up in his bed, and that's corroborated by several people."

http://www.lohud.com/article/201106...ion-has-no-memory-their-last-moments-together

Was CR bloody from the punch to his face? I'd think a punch to the head could lead to a concussion, not a punch in the face. Excess alcohol may have led to his memory loss.

Slowly, more details emerging:

“When (CR) woke up the next morning his jaw was considerably sore, bruises on his face,” explained Salzmann. “Who confronted him, why he was confronted, once again my client doesn't know.”

CR’s apartment and the apartment of another man who told police he saw Lauren walk away are just across a gravel parking lot from where a set of keys were found Friday morning.

I know this quite possibly has nothing to do with the actual "disappearing" of Lauren.. And maybe it is just human instinct and I am just wanting to know.. Whatever the case I would like to know amd understand about What exactly was going on between Lauren and Jesse.. And Lauren and Corey.. And possibly even Lauren and our last person to see her, male#2??

Is no one else wondering??

We have from multiple sources close to Lauren(both friends that actually lived with her.. As well as her father)..stating that Lauren amd Jesse were in a long term very loving and hethy relationship.. That Jesse deeply loved and cared for Lauren and her dad says that she felt the same for Jesse..

From the little we know they met prior to Lauren attended IU.. Couple years ago at a summer camp In Pennsylvania.. With Jesse being a Senior at IU I'd be willing to bet that he is the reason for Lauren choosing IU and joined him there to attend IU..all sounds well and good, right??

So does anyone understand why it seems as tho she was "with" Corey the night in question? Whom we know she'd just met 2 weeks ago at Indy.. She left the bar at 230 am alone with Corey.. IMO quite likely pretty heavily intoxicated as she left her shoes and cell behind at the bar.. He walks with her to her apt.. As we know there was some type altercation while at Smallwood but Lauren and Corey never actually made It to her apt.. Rather after this altercation(which some reports lead me to believe these males in question someone knew or were familiar with Lauren.. Possibly acquaintances?)..

Lauren now concerned about her new friemd Corey having been knocked around pretty good by these guys.. She goes with Corey to his apt complex some mile and a half away..while enroute it seems that Lauren again was unable to keep up with own personal items of importance.. Possibly a purse and for certain her keys(further leading me to believe she was pretty heavily Intoxicated..)

Upon getting Corey home to his apt and to bed to sleep off the booze and injuries from the altercation.. Lauren still doesn't go directly home or even call roomates/friends or boyfriend to let them know what's happened or for a ride.. To our knowledge she calls non one but strangely leaves Coirey snoozing in his bed and goes to another apt located in the same complex.. This corroborated by several others.. And stays an unspecified amount of time at this others guys apt..

Why?? What was she doing?
And it is this unnamed male #2 that the police have said was the last to see Lauren when he watched her walk, headed home to her apt, barefoot, without keys or purse.. And he says he saw her make to the corner of 11th and make the turn at that corner.. He says that was the last he saw Lauren and that was at 430am..

Now a most recent report is LE stating they've now got video of Lauren at 4:15am.. At/or near an "alley" and that the video shows her to be with this second male..

This IMO is not good info.. Meaning according to male2 he didn't walk with Lauren but just watched her as she salted to corner of 11th.. Now we' ve got LE stating they have visual video if Lauren at 4:15 walking from male2's apt to her apt.:. WITH MALE2 ACCOMPANYING HER!!!..
guess will just hav to wait to see if this indeed is indicative of something or if it's just half azz reporting..

But back to my original question.. What do others think was the actuAl dynamics of what was goingon that nite nJesse was not present at all and Lauren seems to have "been with" Corey, her new found "friend" from 2 weeks ago...

I wonder what was Jesse's feeling when finding all of this out?

Anyone have any opinions either way about this particular issue of this case??

TIA
