True. I always read too much into things ... think too much. He obviously wouldn't want to broadcast something like that, and I suppose he's not into subliminal messaging or whatever it's called. It's creepy, though. Maybe it has to do with wanting a lot of coke or something, since I believe NY had a lot of actual snow last year!

I really really think he's most likely saying he has some coke and it isn't the purest stuff he's ever seen.

The line comes from Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes," the second biggest hit song of the 1980s - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Carnes#.22Bette_Davis_Eyes.22. It certainly could have been used as a coke reference by the quoter (if not the quoted), but that is not at least the textual meaning of the song.

:) Here is another link..

"She'll expose you when she snows you",
"All the boys think she's a spy".

It is possibly a cocaine reference and possibly a code word, but we don't know for what. I really doubt he is referring to Lauren at all. It could be a drug reference, but I also doubt it means a bad shipment or something. It could just mean I have coke, I want coke, I am doing coke, coke is fun ha ha, etc. It doesn't necessarily mean he is dealing or saw someone OD-it could just mean that he is a silly young person who is probably too liberal on social networking sites and experiments with drugs sometimes.

All of which together would tend to suggest he has no involvement beyond perhaps the confrontation.

The lyrics certainly might raise an eyebrow, but if they meant something, why would he post them?

Just speculation here - and I'm admittedly never the best at piecing together timing, cameras, etc., so forgive me if I'm missing a piece. But, could LS have arranged to meet her dealer at Smallwood? Maybe that what the intended place (her apt, perhaps?) for the re-up to take place, or for her to at least sync up w/ dealer & co. to go elsewhere.

I can imagine a few things happening if that were the case. Maybe LS then realizes it can't happen in her room since she can't get in. Might annoy the dealer a bit since he came all the way out there... But Lauren wants her high, so she follows to a new location. Maybe even "borrowed" JR's apt for this purpose?

Secondly, and independent of my first thought... I wouldn't be surprised if Lauren borrowed a phone, called her dealer, and the convo went something along the lines of "hey, it's ME, Lauren... Meet ME at my apt...etc." Deals aren't usually a meet "us" type of scenario, unless these introductions have already been made. Might explain a lot about why someone was NOT happy to see her walk up with CR. And, the likely (IMO) "Who's he? He's not coming with us" reaction (which I'd assume would be conveyed which much less pleasantries) would, IMO be a sure catalyst for words to be exchanged - words that could easily escalate to a physical altercation.

JMO...

A planned meet-up on the fifth floor at Smallwood is certainly plausible. LS would have still had her room key at that point and her phone just minutes earlier.
This would explain the near perfect timing of the altercation.
Maybe LS and CR had separate dealings with ZO or maybe ZO had feelings for LS that he had not revealed?

Maybe, maybe not. I haven't really seen enough to make me point a finger yet with any certainty though I am not counting him out. I do think we need to be very careful analyzing vague twitter messages from young people.

(Bolded by me:)) I totally agree. And I really think this post is probably inconsequential...I didn't ever mean to imply that I thought because ZO made this post, that meant he was involved in LS' disappearance. It could actually be argued that this post-if it is taken to mean anything at all-points more to ZO NOT being involved because who would put a public post up that could look sketchy if they were involved in a woman's disappearance? I just wanted to mention the post because I had not seen it discussed on WS before and I thought it was an interesting-though probably irrelevant- coincidence. But I really doubt that it means very much in regards to LS, except possibly that ZO-who we don't even know for sure is connected to LS in any important way (I believe he was involved in the altercation w/ CR but I don't even know that for certain)- is into coke.

Arrogance...possibly.
It's vague enough to be attributed to something else. But to others who may know more it would be a clear message that "you don't mess with me or the business".

Why the reference to New York at all?
Is it another coincidence like the timing and location of the altercation?
There are plenty of other more discreet ways to put out the word that the shipment is in or maybe ZO just really digs Kim Carnes or maybe it is just a movie line.

Then there's AB and his remark (if true).

That makes sense Jenny-I definitely don't think the post/tweet is irrelevant and it is definitely beneficial to discuss it. I just think it is also really, really easy to read into things especially when it is something this short and this vague. Like, there are things on my page that would probably raise eyebrows here if taken out of context. I do definitely have a feeling this is referring to cocaine (I doubt he is a fan of Kim Carnes? :p ) but I just don't know what type of reference it is or if it necessarily means he was involved with Lauren that night other than the altercation.

By the way, what is ZO's criminal record? I have heard he has the worst of any POI, but when I google all I get is rumors. Thanks!

I doubt their posts or tweets have anything to do with Lauren, for the most part...this age group of people move forward distrubing quickly from what I have seen in other cases...

I can see that ... it's what you get from dissecting the text of the post, IMO. OTOH, maybe we're giving the poster too much credit? Or maybe I'm just tired ...

I know these kids may not be the smartest around, but wouldn't that be a mixed metaphor? :) And in the coke world, I would think "NY" would mean "good."

I think this little comment has been commented on WAY too much. But to answer your question - no - New York snow is famous for being disgusting dirty and black. from all the soot from the traffic. It's up there in yuckiness with yellow snow...
I am from NY and in NY when we use the phrase NY snow it means dirty, ugly yucky polluted snow. ZO is from IN so maybe he doesn't even realize what NY snow is famous for, like it seems a lot of other people aren't. But to a NYer, the only thing that comes to mind is dirty snow. If I wanted to say something was pure and clean and white I would say just snow or mountain snow or even heck, NJ snow. So, having heard coke described as snow plenty of times, the use of NY snow to me means it isn't very high quality. But I am a NYer, and maybe the rest of the country doesn't "get" the reference like I would interpret it...

When I google NY Snow I get a bunch of gorgeous clean looking pictures LOL. I am very far from NY or NYC though. Not sure what ZO would be thinking.

As long as "snow" is not a euphemism, and "New York" refers to the city, elmomom is very much on target.

Ok, I really don't see anything interesting about the comment, nor the meaning. I can say it does remind me of the AB tweet that was pretty irreverent regarding LS, and the tweet by someone else about eating in Bloomington. To me, they all make these guys sound uninvolved, at ease, and not at all acting differently. cluciano thinks that young folks "move on" pretty quickly thses days, and that's a possibility. But I think that they would at least go silent out of feeling a little worried until they knew they had "gotten away with things". So to me, all these public comments sway me to feel they weren't involved.

I guess thing would be, was that type of a quote out of character for what he normally posted on his FB page?
