I just talked to a friend that I had discussed Lauren's case with and I told her of later developments and the possibility of an OD.

She replied: Well, but if this was an OD, her body would have been found.

Then I told her that the speculation is that her friends might have freaked out and hid the body.

She said: That makes no sense. If it was a drug accident, it would make no sense for them to conceal of their friend's body.

I agree with her. The drug OD and friends hiding the body seems too much like a conspiracy to me.

Now if one of them hurt her, that's a different story.

Unless that friend had more to hide, like being a dealer and having an apartment full of cocaine and other drugs/paraphanelia.

But what if it was found out that they were also doing drugs, or even gave/sold her the drugs. They could face charges from that...granted, charges not as serious as murder...but still face the risk of getting arrested nonetheless.

In a drunken or high state, perhaps they thought it was in their best interest to "get rid of her" so to speak, in an effort to hide the evidence.

Miller and his volunteers spent Monday driving around the area, looking for rural places to search. They decided on about 50 areas outside the city that they will send search teams to early Tuesday morning.

Well, your friend might think it makes no sense, but doing a simple google search will provide link to actual cases of where a person died from an overdose and the body was then hidden.

A co-worker was telling me at work today about how she heard of a similar story where someone had died of a heroine OD. The "friends" panicked at the thought of getting arrested for using drugs if they reported it to the paramedics, and put their friend's body somewhere else to be found, hoping that it would lead the "trail" away from them.

It was found out that the friends were involved. Instead of just getting arrested for using drugs, they were charged with something along the lines of disposing of human remains.

Can I see the links of friends who hid friend's body?? That seems really absurd to me.

But again, this would has become really absurd lately.

I mean really? What's being arrested for dealing drugs when you can be arrested for someone SO much worse?

I think they could have done it initially, out of panic. But still be hiding her after all these days and amount of media scruntity?

Hi coltsgal.. As waaaaay out in leftfield as your theory may seem with all of the various ways and extremes that we see perp's go to in order to dispose of a body.. Your theory in that regard doesn't seem so wAaAAAAY out in leftfield..IMO...

I do know that LE stated that there have already been many search warrants thus far issued in Lauren's case and have heard that at the very least that Rossman's vehicle, apt, and cell had already been searched.. But I don't believe we have any other specifics of who elses vehicles have been searched..

I know some have speculated that it was possibly Jay that left later that very day that Lauren went missing(to my knowledge not having been confirmed when he left or where he has gone to either)..but "IF" it did come to be known that it was JR that left that day and has been out of state since that time, hiring an ATTY and possibly speaking with LE via phone conversation or thru his ATTY.. But as LE stated has promised to make himself available this coming week..

If it were to be Jay.. In that case I wouldn't find your theory so far fetched.. KWIM??

Of course in doing so I would presume that cadaver dogs would be able to still hit on the vehicle for a positive indicator that there had been human decomp remains at some point..

Still wouldn't be surprised tho if a perp attempted to do something very similar to what you theorize

How many of the POI's have left Indiana shortly after Lauren's disappearance?

I just wanted to throw a theory waaay out of left field. Could it be possible that one of them had her (body?) in their car and planned on taking her back to their home state (or somewhere along the way), just so she would be far away from Indiana and the search crews?

I think 2. JW is reportedly back home, don't know if he drove or flew.

IIRC it was reported one more POI traveled to Indianapolis or another town.

It is becoming clear that Spierer’s boyfriend, Jesse Wolff, has returned to his roots in the New York City area, and that Jason Rosenbaum is either elsewhere in Indiana or in his home state of Michigan. WIBC Radio confirms Wolff is back in New York, possibly at his family’s home in Port Washington.

Here is a link to one of the cases. I am picking this one because they have actually been convicted.
"A Jackson County jury sent a stern warning today by finding three people guilty of tampering with a crime scene and moving the body of 19-year-old Cherie Irving, who died of a drug overdose, said Assistant Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka."

Google Melissa Best, for one recent case...

I will ask my co-worker tomorrow for names on this case so I can google it for some newspaper or media coverage.

I don't think so, here is why:

Along the way, they wouldn't be very familiar with that area. Maybe the freeway but not much else. They'd want to dump the body in an isolated area where it wouldn't be found, but they have no idea where that is. Meanwhile, while they are out driving and scouting out dump locations, maybe out in the sticks, they have a body in their trunk and if a cop pulls them over - game over.

If they wait until they are home where they are familiar with the area, and someone finds the body, it's going to be really hard to explain how her body came to be dumped in their hometown. And of course the police would go over their car with a fine-toothed comb and find that spec of blood or strand of hair that the perp missed.

There are quarries to the south of Bloomington, and some forested areas to the east in Brown County. (Which is amazingly beautiful in the fall, by the way.) Much better places if someone was going to dump a body. They'd probably know the area and less chance of being caught (assuming they did it early before people started looking for Lauren.)

Of course, we don't know if Lauren really said she wanted to "party". One person, via his lawyer, had attributed that wish to party to her.

I saw earlier that this was attributed to Mike Beth. But I've not seen any links for this to verify this an an official statement by MB. All of the reports I saw regarding MB's direct statements said that she simply didn't want to stay and left. So, if there is a link about this, please post. Thank you.

Here is the link to the article. It's not a direct statement from MB but that is what CR's defense lawyer is attributing to MB.
"Rossman's attorney, Carl Salzmann, told Fox59 News his client has no memory of the fight but was told that Spierer walked him home and turned him over to his roommate Mike Beth. Salzmann said Beth claims he put Rossman to bed while Spierer asked him if he wanted to party. Salzmann said when Beth demured, Spierer left Rossman's apartment to visit Jay Rosenbaum, a mutual friend, two doors down."

I see what you're saying Paul...especially about bringing her back to their home town.

However, I would be curious to know how long it took any of them to drive home. I imagine they were pretty familiar with the expressways, but I live in Indiana, and know it's a 10 hour-ish drive to NY (depending on where at). I imagine they have probably stopped at some of the same locations on various trips back home.

With the whereabouts of JR unknown at this point makes him look suspicious...to us outsiders anyway. Hopefully LE have narrowed down his location.

Well, I guess LE REALLY needs to focus on the POI's cars.
