IN - New Albany: Mother, two children found dead in creek

  • #481
A printing company was mentioned in one of the articles as his place of employment. There is one that I found that is approx. 2 miles from where they lived. This would make sense as it is about a 10 minute drive on google maps. He supposedly left the house at 4:50.

Also, I believe it was JC's mother or father that stated they spoke to her the night before on the phone.
Can you post the link? I've been googling and can't find anything on his employment. Tia

We all must be psychic....I've just been searching for printing companies in New Albany, IN. I was surprised how many were listed as printing or related companies, given the size of the town.

Maybe the locals posting here can tell us which places are close to where the Clutters lived. We don't know which one the husband worked at yet but I think they would probably live close to his work. IMO

I'm wondering if he came home for lunch. Since he says they did everything together I just can't imagine him not having lunch at home if possible.

Did they call each other during the day?

Did they even have cell phones or just home phone?

Had Mrs. Clutter or the children gone to a doctor since moving to New Albany?

Just some things I'm thinking about while we wait for more news....

Cardinal is approx. 2 miles. I didn't check any of the others for distance.

Well shoot, that article says a Louisville printing co., not New Albany.

Completely off topic, but the name Clutter always makes me think of the Clutters that were murdered in Kansas In 1959. Truman Capote's book In Cold Blood was based on their murders.

Hello poster Reader...the following post by poster colette will hopely answer a couple of your questions.

Nichols also said it was unusual for Jamie Clutter to leave their home without telling Michael where she was going.

"She had never done that before without calling or texting him letting him know that she's going to be gone for a while and where she's going," Nichols said.

There are as many statistics on the web as stars in the sky. I did not presume u ignorant of the penticostal faith, merely stating from my 50 odd years experience with penticostals IN THIS AREA. Agree to disagree. Have also been women's health& psych RN. Please, it is just MY experience & my findings. I could quote God, but some would still disagree. It does not matter any way. We will probably never know. I'm signing out. thank.

L&D Mail Masters is literally within 2 miles or so of Sheffield Apartments. It happens to be that my exboyfriend is a manager there. Unfortunately, we do not speak anymore or I would have already been texting him. This company is and does have religious values...with the owner, etc.. Christian. Most jobs are those that "work on the line" type jobs. This would make TOTAL sense for MC as this place does run 24 hours. They have 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift. Given him having to be at work around 5:30-6ISH AM...THIS WOULD TOTALLY FIT! Alot of the other places are like more mom and pop type chain printing companies...think Kinkos....are they open all night?! NO! L&D Mail Masters is on Grantline Road basically....and so that is also the main road/exit to get to this crime area/apartment complex, etc..

How large and far-reaching is this church community within New Albany?

** specifically this Pentecostal church. (This question may be too difficult to answer, and maybe I shouldn't even be asking)

I've been going back and reading the first articles written. Something that stood out to me as being "off". Rev Nichols says he's known the family for five years, MC called him very soon after getting home from work and finding his family missing, Nichols says dad left for work at about 4:50am. From reading all this information given to the reporters by Nichols, I would assume he knew the family very well. Then why did he have no idea where MC worked?
"Nichols said Michael Clutter “was definitely at work all day long” on Wednesday.... ...He was not certain where that job is."

http://www.courier-journal.com/arti...loss-wife-2-kids-bodies-found-New-Albany-park

It seems obvious that the pastor got together with MC so that the pastor could then be a mouthpiece to the media. Otherwise, I don't see how he would know what time he left that morning. I think the good pastor should quit quoting these things as facts and instead say "Michael told me that..." He does NOT know if MC was at work all day long that day. He doesn't know where he worked, he claims (although I would bet someone in the church must have helped him get a job). No one probably knows what time someone leaves for work in the morning, especially to the odd minute unless they were there or they are a neighbor who sees them consistently, etc. The pastor did not know himself what time MC left that morning or any morning is my bet.

"L&D operates in three buildings, totaling 180,000 square feet of production and storage space, at 110 Security Parkway in New Albany’s Grant Line Business Park

...The business had revenue of about $26 million last year. Fischer said business slowed during the recent recession but the that company was able to maintain steady revenue year-to-year. Recent years have been kinder, she said, as revenue grew about 7.5 percent from 2011 to 2012."

Makes sense the timing and perhaps some job openings.

Wasn't it posted earlier in the thread, maybe around page 9, that he worked for a ship building company? Maybe I misunderstood what I read, but that's what I recall.

BBM: My thoughts as well on the job and the pastor as well.

These are old articles I am linking.

http://www.wave3.com/story/21656460/children-found-dead-in-new-albany-creek-drowned

Henderson said the family moved back to Mike Clutter's home state of Indiana from Aberdeen, Washington in December because of the church. Nichols said the family was attracted to the outreach work it does in the community, including in the neighborhoods surrounding the very park where the bodies were found.

Henderson is the prosecutor. Despite what has been stated in other articles, IMO, they moved to New Albany primarily for the church. IMO, MC most likely got the job through a connection.

I really wish I knew how JC felt about leaving her family and home town and moving so far away. Then approx. 3 months after the move this happens.

http://www.wave3.com/story/21674769/new-albany-man-struggling-with-deaths-of-wife-and-2-kids

The couple had been married for more than 12 years. Clutter said he met his wife in Brown County, IN at a church singles conference.

So, is it customary for people to travel from all over the country to meet at a singles conference? I don't understand why JC was all the way in Indiana. Does the faith have these singles gatherings, so they can meet others of the same faith.

http://newsandtribune.com/local/x1221095540/Family-prepares-to-lay-mom-kids-to-rest

The Clutters lived in Aberdeen for about a decade, moving from Indiana, where Mike Clutter has family. They spent the first three years of their marriage in Indiana and Brandon was born there.

“They thought, ‘Well it’s time to come home and spend some time at this end of the world,’” Pink said.

Mike Clutter found a job at Westport Shipyard, and the Pinks helped them find a house, paint it and prepare it for their young family.

The last few months of her pregnancy with Katelyn, Jaime Clutter was on bed rest, so the Pinks had Brandon with them for much of last summer, traveling to Disneyland and enjoying quality time.

“We had a great summer together, and then of course they were here for the holidays,” he said.

He remembered saying goodbye when the family moved as very difficult, and “that’s a normal feeling, but Mike needed a job so that was … the positive thing about it.”

He said Jaime spoke with her mother three to four times a week, and he would talk with her at least once or twice a week.

“In that short time [they had lived there], everything has worked out really well, it sounded like,” he said.

Just wanted to add the above, showing they married and lived in Indiana (Most likely near his family and job at the time. Closer to Fort Wayne, not near New Albany.) My opinion is based on a resume for MC I found online. They then moved to Washington near her family and then back to Iniana near the church.

eta: What is the connection with the church in New Albany? When and how did that come about?

Yes, he did when they lived in Washington, but he had lost that job and had been unemployed for over a year, according to MSM, MC got a job at a printing company in Indiana.

To be honest....I don't know anything or much about this faith. I was raised Christian. Nothing fancy..nothing weird in my opinion, just basic King James type Christianity on Sunday morning. I will say though, I met a guy via online dating a year or so ago. He was Pentecostal and always tried to open my mind about it and I would quickly kinda of shut down. Clearly, the relationship did not last past a month or two BUT one thing I can tell you (maybe exclusive to him) he was super controlling! He was pretty much in charge, made the decisions, really wasn't too open-minded to my thoughts, HATED my tattoos, sweet as can be at first then the real him came out. Who knows. The church I go to now (also in New Albany) is one of the largest Christian churches this side of the Ohio River (meaning not the 10 minute drive over into Louisville) has about 5,000 members a week. Outside of that, I am far out of touch with the whole Pentecostal thing. However, I will say that since this has happened, I have noticed young woman (I'm talking like early 20's they look) out and about and the one distinct thing I have noticed is super long hair, long jean skirts, sneakers, no makeup, hair pulled back. Now this may sound kind of like I am putting a label on it...and I don't mean to be but I never quite put 2 & 2 together in relation to a woman's general look within the Pentecostal church. What does that all mean relevant to this case? Likely, nothing. However, I do believe the community is rather large. I seem to think the manager I know of that works at L & D actually goes to Greater Faith. If so...that would make things ALOT more hinky in my mind. I will have to check something on FB when I can access it at home. I'm wondering what that could or would mean IF say MC actually worked at this specific printing company and the people in "charge" there per say....were members of this church.

I can't access FB at work. However, if someone wants to look at the L&D Mail Masters FB page...you will then find the owner. If you look around on the owner and/or "likes" of the company page...anyone find Greater Faith relation or owner attendance? They do hire a lot. It is hard to keep people at a lower type rate for the type of work.
