I noticed their Disposition/Trial setting hearing date is different.... two separate trials?

During a 90-minute jailhouse interview with two Herald Bulletin reporters and a photographer Friday afternoon, Hudson often contradicted herself as she talked about her 23-month-old daughter Paisley.
From the article:
• She said she had a wonderful relationship with Ramirez, and he was a strong father figure for the children — until she realized she'd brought a "monster" into her life.

! The bruises and other injuries to her daughter immediately obvious to anyone with whom she came in contact — except Hudson herself — were caused, Hudson said, by her son, who was having behavioral problems. At other points during the interview, she said her son was loving and protective toward Paisley.

• She and Ramirez fought constantly in the weeks preceding Paisley's death, Hudson said, and she was considering leaving him, in part because she caught him texting another woman.

When asked whether she would expect others to believe her answers to the interview questions, Hudson stared meekly at the floor, hesitated and then said no.
Dead toddler's mother contradicts herself in jailhouse interview

The Department of Child Services (DCS) became involved with the family last year when Paisley was hospitalized with pneumonia but apparently there were also earlier contacts because of the boy's father.

There's more at the link, including some of her background information. She continues to blame others - Ramirez and even her son - for Paisley's injuries, all the while only "blaming" herself for not seeing the monster Ramirez was. IOW she was the innocent, naive mom. Yeah, right.

WHAT?! She was found wandering near a highway covered in burns and bruises and was returned to her parents only to end up dead 2 months later. I am always the 1st person to defend cps/DCF but I can't even attempt to.
It's horrific. Nobody saved these kids... there was so many missed opportunities.

I have no sympathy for this "mother". not one iota.

These injuries didn't happen overnight.

And the fact this innocent baby girl was returned to them after being found outside (and in the GC restaurant) wandering -- bloody , burned , and bruised; defies comprehension !

I am thinking the restaurant worker who is in the photo is holding her shirt to her nose b/c this baby was filthy and stank to high heavens.
Unloved. Uncared for.

Or maybe she was wiping away tears.

As well as the older sibling who was bruised and burns on his ankles.
*insert swearing*

Slightly different report on the charges at this link.

Kayla Hudson was charged with Level 1 felony neglect of a dependent causing death and Level 3 felony neglect of a dependent causing serious injury.

Ryan Ramirez was charged with the murder of Paisley Hudson and Level 3 felony neglect of a dependent causing serious injury of the 3-year-old brother.

I'm not sure which is correct. Here's more on what happened in court:

When the judge asked Ramirez if he understood his rights and the charges he said "Yes. I don't agree with them but, yes, I understand them."

Um, okay. Between that and Hudson's "I had nothing to do with this. I had nothing to do with this" I wanna tear my hair out.

The article also points out a few conflicts between their stories.

Glad you quoted some of the article, as it doesn't work for me now.

Hudson said they were up all night talking and watching TV. Around 6:15 am Saturday she became concerned that Paisley hadn't woken up yet. She went to wake her and found her not breathing and cold to the touch. So she put her in a warm bath, tried CPR then redressed her.

She said she didn't call 911 because Ramirez told her CPS would get involved and they should come up with an alibi. She said she refused and took Paisley to the hospital, leaving her son with Ramirez.

Ramirez's two sons were interviewed by police; one of them said Ramirez hit Paisley "for no reason, he hits her a lot."

Hudson's other child was examined and found to be "covered" with bruises and other signs of physical trauma.
Murder charge filed in death of Anderson child

Up all night talking and watching TV? ===METH?

Like many others here, I usually defend CPS workers because I know how difficult their situations can be. Often it is a lose/lose situation.

But I cannot explain or justify this case at all. A very young baby is found wandering all alone, bruised and bleeding, and she ends up back home, with her bruised and battered siblings, until she is murdered by the monsters? UGH...my blood pressure is surging...

In some articles it says there were open CPS cases with the mother. One report said police did NOT contact CPS when she was found at GC so no report on that. LE said they don't have access CPS reports, so didn't know of the ongoing issues.

I think the mother inflicted some of the injuries as well. I don't think it was all one person, JMO.

And if you could leave the store to get cream and tea for the SONS bruises, um, why didn't you call 911 when you left? Says she left TWICE after getting home from work. I wonder if Paisley was already dead then?

Kayla undressed the girl and put her in a warm bath, then attempted to perform CPR and redressed her but did not call 911, according to court documents. Kayla told police that Ramirez said, "You're going to get CPS called on you. You've already lost one kid, you don't want to lose [redacted name] too. We've got to come up with something." She told police that she refused to come up with alibis and left her other child in the care of Ramirez, while she took Paisley to St. Vincent Anderson

Murder charge filed in death of Anderson child

Sooo according to mom, HE killed Paisley, but she left her son with HIM when she took Paisley to the hospital. And she knew the son had bruises and swelling, because she left to get creams and tea for the son, but for her daughter? Well, she left her lying there, either dead or dying all night, then when she was cold to the touch (that usually takes awhile to happen!) she put in her BATHTUB to warm the body, redressed a dead baby, and took her to the hospital, because you know, she could get there quicker than an ambulance!

Stupid, stupid, stupid! Her explanation makes no sense! None of her actions makes any sense!

Documents show Paisley arrived in the emergency room at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital at 6:49 a.m. and was pronounced dead 15 minutes later at 7:06 a.m.

Hudson's 3-year-old son was taken to Riley Hospital for Children after doctors noted he was covered in bruises.

Court documents show that doctors at Riley noted the 3-year-old had multiple injuries, including but not limited to: numerous cuts, bruises, both new and old fractures, bruising to his genitals, a bald spot on his head that was likely the result of malnourishment, liver bruising, bruising and cuts to his face and eye and cigarette burns on his ankles.

In a separate interview, Ramirez's two children, 8 and 10, told investigators that their father would hit Paisley "a lot" and that when she cries "he hits her again."
