Why does the website poster say missing from Frankfort but the report says Sheridan?
They are close but in different counties.

Because Frankfort was where they had Thanksgiving dinner and technically the last place he was seen.

South Dakota was ruled out.

We do not know where he vehicle was recovered by GMAC. It was taken to an auction by GMAC and sold to a dealership in Englewood, CO.

What do you need to do to get it updated. The Detective is slammed right now?
I can ask the case manager for his NamUs to remove the SD part. Although I added him to NamUs I don’t have the ability to freely edit it.

I'm the one who added him to NamUs. I put South Dakota because he apparently traveled to a small town there with a bank. I wasn't sure about Colorado - his car may have ended up there but that doesn't mean he drove it there. The vehicle notes mention it being sold off in Colorado.
Im glad you added him there. Never even thought of it. Great idea.

Out of curiosity, are you the person the Detective met at the conference, or did you just get to it before they did?

I’ve never met him. I’m just another person online who is interested in this case and realized he was not in NamUs so I decided to submit him.

Can the location remain, though, maybe with a note that Not-Paul apparently had an account iirc at a bank in Hoven, SD?

Might be a piece of the puzzle that someone remembers?

Although I'm sure any bank security video is long gone. Like Not-Paul....

It wasn't a bank account, it was a credit card. That just happened to be where their headquarters was located.

Thanks! Come to think of it, at least 2 of my cards are 'based' in South Dakota.

I'm not sure I want to know how you know this...lol
The credit card some lady opened in my name was based in Idaho.

Return address on the monthly statement. Yes, I am old & receive paper statements monthly.

iirc there is a ZIP code in Delaware that has no residential addresses, all office buildings -- and most of those offices are credit card companies.

imho, South Dakota & Delaware have favorable regulations for this type of business:

Sadly, doesn't bring us closer to finding Not-Paul.

Unless of course, it eventually does....

Just read through all of threads #1 & #2 for the first time. What a whirlwind of a case!

I do know that the Hamilton County detective said that he was within a year of retirement, but that was already a couple years ago. I would love to hear if he's still working the case, officially or unofficially. I'm curious as to whether there have been any other updates or persons' of interest.

The whole waiting game with the Alaska JC was such a severe disappointment when it reached its conclusion. That guy greatly looked the part, and had the background to boot.

As far as I can tell, it didn't appear that the whole thing with Louis panned out either.

It almost seems, in regards to this case, separating fact from fiction is almost more trouble than it's worth. That is not for me to decide however.

Detective is still working. He has 7-8 more years I believe. He is very busy with day to day crime. He is still working on the case as new things arise.

The website www.whoispaulraymondharrod.com is the most up to date information. The same info should have been posted here. There is a lot of incorrect information posted previously in this thread. If there is a discrepancy, the website has the correct information.

You are probably right regarding the trouble. Yet after spending so much time research the case, you become determined to find an answer.

Ohhh I SO wish I'd seen this post before I read all the way through the previous thread o_O Now listening to 1st vid, so well done and I just wish I'd saved my eyes from several hours of reading!

This thread is still a fun trip through the investigative process.

Long ago I was an undergraduate at a large university. Maybe you were, too?

Many college graduates are under the legal drinking age for that state. Maybe you were, too?

The state's driver's license did have a photograph.

A fraternity house near campus had -- a mock-up of the state's driver's license drawn on a wall, scaled to a person. Complete with good rendering of the State Seal. Teamwork of Art & Architecture majors, apparently.

Hypothetically, a person who was underage might stand in front of the careful drawing while someone took a picture. When printed to scale, voila, driver's license, any birth date you choose, address you choose, name you choose.

Good enough for bouncers at bars, I'm told.

Seriously, I didn't have one.

Maybe our not-Paul started out with a faked document like this, and moved up to real documents such as the Social Security card?

I suppose the driver's license records are purged at some point, or our Detective would post that for us. Was there a Commercial license in Indiana while he drove for Chesty?

I have a not-for-hire with a weight limit in my state, not a CDL but a step between that & a regular license. I can legally drive a commercial vehicle under a certain weight, but not transport passengers.

Guess we'll never know this part/
Hypothetically? Lol

If anyone wants to take a stab at figuring out the lower left date, this is when the Drivers License was issued in Indiana.
The top date is 02/07/42, the bottom right is 02/92 the expiration.
I'm trying to figure out when the Driver's License was issued 0X/XX/87

He did state in the previous thread that he was retiring soon. I just binged both threads. He disappears for months at a time. No updates?

No. He has 7-8 more years. He is incredibly busy with day-to-day crime. I’ve been trying to handle social media for him and let him know if any leads pop up.
Just to add, there have been no updates unfortunately.
There were a couple leads generated from the video and website, but they have been ruled out.
