I haven't forgotten about this case. One of our members in this thread suggested fakePaul may have been a victim of Herbert Baumeister. If so, he could already be identified but not with the name Paul. Not sure about this but I like to explore every idea.

It's a little different than I remember.
There is no indication f-Paul was gay but he had more than one secret to hide. Only if a victim is identified and a picture of that victim shows up we can make a comparisment. Otherwise, I don't know..

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office detectives are seeking assistance in solving a cold case they have been working for several years. It is an unusual case involving a missing person using possible false identifying information that has resulted in few results during the investigation.

On Friday, November 27, 1992, the day after Thanksgiving, Paul Raymond Harrod left his home near Sheridan, IN and has not been seen or heard from since that date. Harrod left a $100 bill and a note for his wife stating he “needed to get away for a while.” He left in his 1992 white Geo Metro 2-door hatchback but left no indication where he was going or when he might return. On Friday, May 7, 1993, Harrod’s wife filed a missing person report with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

There has been little information to use as detectives try to track down Harrod’s location. Over the years, investigators have uncovered bits and pieces including:

-the Geo Metro was sold in Denver, Colorado in 1994
-Harrod’s Social Security number was not issued to him until 1987
-the high school Harrod listed as attending has no record of a person by that name ever being there
-a Paul Raymond Harrod with the same parents’ names and date of birth was killed by a car when he was five (5) years old. The death occurred in Harrod, Ohio.
-detectives believe Harrod may now be in his 70’s but an exact age may not be available

Investigators working the case recently received the photos of Harrod. The individual photo of Harrod was taken on Thanksgiving Day in 1992, the day prior to Harrod’s disappearance. Detectives would also like to identify the best man in the wedding photograph in order to interview the individual for more information.

In addition to the Sheriff’s Office working the case, detectives have also enlisted criminal justice students from Purdue University. Anyone with information on Paul Raymond Harrod or who may have known Harrod during his time in Hamilton County is asked to contact Detective Lockhart at 317-776-9887 or through Hamilton County Public Safety Communications at 317-773-1282.

Definitely an unusual and intriguing case. The conflicting details about his identity make it even more mysterious. Hopefully, with the renewed attention and involvement of Purdue’s criminal justice students, new leads will surface. Someone out there must know something.

I’ve been catching up on this thread and all I can say is wow.

I wanted to ask, has it been confirmed fPRH had blue eyes? Is the height confirmed as well? I’ve been digging and trying to see what I can find but then at the same time it feels like it all must have been suggested by now.

I’ve done another a big read through and yet I don’t feel confident in any possible leads.

Yes, I would say it rules him out since fake PRH is only about 5 ft. 8 inches tall and has blue eyes. I do see some resemblance though. Now you have got me interested in researching the missing person you posted, since he is from my 'neck of the woods.'

In the early morning hours of September 5, 1988, the burned body of Rebecca Harvey was found in her boyfriend's burned home on Oak Grove Road in Washington, Indiana. Evidence indicated that Ms. Harvey had been doused with gasoline and set ablaze. Her boyfriend, Steven Hendricks was also reported missing and is believed to be a victim of foul play.

This only makes sense to me if Steven wasn't a victim of foul play, and rather, was the perpetrator.. Of course, though, LE has more info than I do--

Steven was 22 at the time he went missing in 1988, which would make fake PRH 26 in 1992. I'm not sure if that age would be even close to correct.
