In Retrospect-Kronk Believes He Saw Skull In August

Every time I read a thread about RK I think KC just might walk. If there is just one juror who jumps to conclusions the way people on this forum do it's quite possible she will walk. It seems that everyone is intent on casting dispersions on this man regardless of what he says or doesn't say. Where does it say that he reported that in August he thought he saw a skull? It doesn't because that is not what he said. All that is reported is that he said that LOOKING BACK ON IT he thinks what he saw was the skull. He did not state that BACK IN AUGUST HE THOUGHT HE SAW A SKULL. For all we know LE has shown him pix of the skull to see if it resembled what he saw back in August. And for the umpteenth time--he did not call LE until 9:30 pm on 8/11 because he called when his shift was over. He did not call on county time which was the right thing to do.

But Kronk was not relieving himself in August. He was searching for Caylee's body and just happened to nail the exact spot where Caylee's body was, seemingly on his first try.

Why doesn't he admit that he was searching for the body?

It wasn't sarcastic:) However, I respectfully disagree. I would have literally called every day. I understand that he called three or four times, but if you think you found a dead body and that nothing is being done about it...I mean, if you believed you saw a skull...well, I guess I'm just a squeaky wheel. I understand that not everyone will agree with me, but I would have asked for another officer if I thought the one I had wasn't taking me seriously, and I really thought I saw a dead body.

But, hey, it wasn't me, and I wasn't in that situation. I know what I think I'd do, but I've never been there. So I'm not trying to "blame" Kronk:)

We know that one call he made, he was literally told to hang up and call the tip line. Anyone who has called the tip line has reported being left on hold, (20 minutes seems to be everyones breaking point...) which to me would feel like another brush off. Having the officer come out to to the scene and brush him off a third time may have made him say, 'forget it'. Who has time for this? I give him kudos for going back, I'll bet he was shaking in his boots, and used the "I went to relieve myself" because he really felt like he was about to! (No one ever said he did and he was out there for some time.)

I'm sure, not a day has gone by that Mr Kronk has not wondered about what he thought he saw back in August, if it had been me, I probably would have had nightmares on a regular basis of walking into that area and finding that baby and needing help that I couldn't find.

If LE had been as desperate in August when he first called, if they had known this was going to still be an open investigation in December, way back then. I'll bet his calls would have been handled differently from day (call) 1. Of course if he said he found a skull by Caylee Anthony's house, even back in August, he would have gotten a different reply to his calls.

As for the officer who responded and was rude, 3 strikes and you're out!!!

I do not know much about forensic science and body decomposition, but I wonder if the body would have decomposed enough so that Kronk would have seen a "skull" in August. Does that sound feasible?

The answer is yes. She would have been completely skeletonized within a few weeks of death according to many forensics experts who have been following the case. In August she would have been a skeleton already, since it had been almost 2 months since she disappeared...

Kronks new information does put to bed the burning question was it the same bag as he saw in August? He believes it is.

Well good for the case, I'm glad he figured it out - he's not the only one who thought the body might be there.

As soon as I heard MR say he saw something "white & round" or "round & white" (doesn't matter) I immediately thought this sounds like the SKULL..To me the description fit, perfectly, but during a discussion here I learned the SKULL would no longer be "white" at the time he saw this "object" but the truth is I wasn't totally convinced & it's been nagging at me all this time.

It's possible he wasn't sure what it was (from that distance) but I think it was this, more then anything else, that made him suspect it could be the remains..Then an officer clears the scene..He knows it was a crappy job so even more so what he thinks he may have seen keeps nagging at him the same way it did me..It could be why he eventually went back in Dec? but by the time he actually saw the SKULL upclose it looks very different due to even more decomp..The location may have changed slightly too due to the water and/or animals.

Maybe because of this he didn't think it was the SAME thing he saw back then..Maybe he thinks about it some more & has a different POV..Maybe that's really ALL there is to it.

Must have been a different interview with LP. In the one I heard, all I heard mentioned was the first name and the term neighbor. Not saying LP did not know or mention it at another time.

I am still wondering though - is it a fact or an LP theory?

(LP ... every time I see that I think Liquid Propane)

Do you have the name ?? (I'm sure you do)....IDK how you can find out about city employee's....

LP said it recently, either last monday or friday on NG....but only said firsrt name, & lives across from Kio's parents.

(credit to LP)

There is a big difference between just randomly peeing in the woods and peeing in the woods having the Caylee Anthony case in your mind, or seeing "something" and thinking about the Caylee Anthony case.

Why doesn't he admit that he was searching for the body?

By my measure, he does.

I think he was immediately successful and then took time out (afternoon discovery, evening reporting) to try and figure out ("we") the best way to handle the situation while keeping open the potential to collect the reward.

OK, then. He went to pee in woods randomly at that site and saw a child's skull.

Wudge, I have some problems with reward money being a prime motivator for Kronk. He waits months before going back to "discover" the remains. If he knew the body was there, and he really wanted the money, he could have put on rubber boots and made the confirmation with follow-up call to 911. The problem with waiting months is that somebody else could discover the body during this time and claim the reward money. You snooze - you lose.

And thank God for that. If only the officer who responded to his call took him seriously Caylee could have been laid to rest several months ago.

Whether you believe RK or not, the problem is that all these "questions" about his story and his life (kidnapping, various calls, skull in Aug etc etc) all add up and there may be people on the jury who see all that as adding up to something being "not right" and it could cause a problem for the prosectution.

I personally wish he would just stop speculating in the media about the entire thing. He is not helping by saying he thinks he saw the skull in August. Either he did or he didn't. If he did why not say that to 911 when you called? How did the skull fall out of the bag in December if it was out in August? He did not say he moved the bag and the skull was underneath it, he said it fell out. A tropical storm came through this area creating standing water, that combined with animals left the bag and the skull which was already freed from the bag in the same location for 5 months?

Speculating about what he might have seen 5 months ago is just not helping at all. It just raises more questions. I saw something suspicious in August and called. In December I found the remains and called again. Period.

I really prefer witnesses that stay away from the media, but why not just say I had a feeling about this location, or I can't discuss the details of the scene, I have given that information to the appropriate parties. MOO

We don't know that he was searching for Caylee, do we? Or if he was, that this was his first attempt. All we know was he saw something suspicious. Something that made him think LE needs to see this.

If I take my dog for a walk this afternoon and find a body, I will nail the exact spot where it was left, on my first try! Some people are just lucky that way!

Yes. However. he could not have then said that he was just there to relieve himself (accidental discovery).

On GMA, Kronk said he was searching for Caylee in August.

Why doesn't Roy Kronk just tell us everything that is going on in his head? Because without complete disclosure, there will be questions from the defense.

Here's my solution: Give 'em all a Brain Fingerprinting.
