And thank God for that. If only the officer who responded to his call took him seriously Caylee could have been laid to rest several months ago.

Well we don't have any proof of that! But at least she would have been found!

Once again, Kronk didn't say he thought he saw a skull back in August.

  • #223
I don't know what to think of this latest info! I don't believe Kronk is guilty of any wrong doing but, I can't help but think to myself "WHY DIDN'T HE ELABORATE ?"

What I mean by that is, if I thought I was looking at a skull, I would have said on the phone to LE, "I think I see a skull in the water." KWIM??

He called the police three times, to no avail. Perhaps he was concerned that he would look, suspicious if he continued to call and insist that Caylee was there.

And if he had gone to the media, people would still find him suspicious because they would then accuse him of selling the story and exploiting rather than calling the police.

He's in a lose-lose as far as pleasing everyone.

OCSO- GUILTY of not checking things out in August.

Casey Anthony- GUILTY of murdering her daughter.

Anthony Family- GUILTY of obstructing justice.

Roy Kronk- NOT GUILTY of anything other than being persistent.

that's correct to me also........and thank goodness RK found CAYLEE, thanks to RK!!! I really don't care if there was a daisy chain, atleast RK DID something and NO ONE ELSE DID ANYTHING!!!! IMo

Whether you believe RK or not, the problem is that all these "questions" about his story and his life (kidnapping, various calls, skull in Aug etc etc) all add up and there may be people on the jury who see all that as adding up to something being "not right" and it could cause a problem for the prosectution.

I agree. It is really what is at the end of the line that matters.

The Orlando Centennial has done a horrid attack piece on Kronk because he mentioned the ocso deputy was rude, etc.. I think that is horrible of the Sentinnel to get into attack pieces of anyone in this case. They need to just report the news - not take sides here. The article was posted in the RANT thread. Disgraceful. I'm not on Team Kronk and it is still disgraceful for a newspaper to do that. moo

On GMA, Kronk said he was searching for Caylee in August.

OK thanks, haven't watched it yet. Well like I said, some people are just lucky. He should have bought a lottery ticket that day.

If the prosecutors really believe this was a premeditated murder, they would be wise to be the ones who get Kronk to fess up as regards exactly what happened. As things stand, at best, Kronk will be a huge distraction to their case. At worst, he is reasonable doubt.

Not to mention I think he was concerned about his background being publicized if he got involved.

Saying no one else did anything is pretty harsh words, considering how hard, very many people worked trying to find this angel.

Of course if he said he found a skull by Caylee Anthony's house, even back in August, he would have gotten a different reply to his calls.[/B]

As for the officer who responded and was rude, 3 strikes and you're out!!!

snipped

But he did say he saw something "white & round" in at least one of his calls..He also said a few other things but that stood out to me & my guess is it did to him too but for whatever reason it sounds like he didn't stress it enough to LE..Even so it should've stood out to them (of all ppl) so why didn't it?

How did the skull fall out of the bag in December if it was out in August? He did not say he moved the bag and the skull was underneath it, he said it fell out.

His statement to GMA is ambiguous on this...

"In December you went back to the same area. Why did you go back?" GMA's Robin Roberts asked Kronk.

"I had to go to the bathroom, so I went in there and I looked over and I saw a shape that didn't look quite right to me and when I pulled the bag up I basically looked down and there it was," he said.

The skull may have been outside of the bag and concealed beneath the bag. He is not clear on that. At least one media article after the discovery said that the skull was found near the bag (i.e. not inside it).

Kronk is really starting to piss me off.

BINGO! on all points :)

While I am still willing to give RK the benefit of the doubt, it is becoming harder and harder to do so. First he went into the woods to pee, then he said he went there to specifically check for the bag. One time he was taking a break from work, then he was supposedly not on duty at the time. One time he "thought" he saw something, then we find that he was so sure it WAS something that he took a camera with him. If he thought to take a picture of a snake, then why not a picture of the bag to show police?

Maybe all of us are more curious or persistent than most....but if I thought I saw ANYTHING at all questionable in that area, and the police did not listen... I would have next called any tip line available, then the FBI, then Tim Miller, then GOD help me... even Leonard P. ! Yes, I know they were not all on the scene in August yet, but they were all thoroughly involved long before December. If he was worried about how it would look in August for him to find Caylee due to his particular background...well that did not change by December.

I'm with you on this. If I saw anything questionable in that area, (especially what looked like a hard object, the color of a skull), I would not stop until someone paid full attn. to me. I wouldn't rest until it was checked out. That's just very persistent me though.

Edited to add---Not bashing the guy. Just in agreement with raeann on how I would have handled it.

Wudge, that is just not true. He doesn't have to "fess up" to anything because he hasn't done anything wrong. All this speculation and gossip about this man is based on two things - the comment about the "daisy chain" that LP made and this story which does NOT report what Kronk SAID, but what someone thinks he might have thought.

There is ZERO evidence that this man did anything wrong. Nothing. Zip. Nada. He wasn't the only person to conjecture that the body was at that site. Other people thought the same thing, including the police. There is NO quote or evidence of him even remotely suggesting that he saw a skull back in August. He isn't the one who said that. An anonymous source who isn't backed up by anyone else, who hasn't given a name, in a story that isn't more than two paragraphs has now cast serious suspicion on the ONE person who has done something positive in this case and that's bringing closure to thousands of people who worried about where this kid might be.

Since the kidnapping arrest never resulted in charges and his record was expunged, this will not be admissible during Casey's trial. Because technically, the arrest and charges do not exist.

So his history is a non issue for the trial.

To be honest, saying he saw something white and round completely baffled me. What did KC leave with Caylee that was white and round? I kept trying to figure out what something white and round had to do with Caylee's remains. I never thought he was trying to say he found a skull. That's just me.

I agree, LE should have been more receptive to the information. I got chills when I heard the recording where the dispatcher told him to hang up and call the tip line. WRONG ANSWER! and he should be called on the carpet for it.
