Typo by you.

But he is no longer a deputy until the investigation is concluded.

He has lost his badge and equipment and is not permitted to identify himself as a deputy during his reassignment.

Correct, but there is a very meaningful difference between resigned and reassigned.

Wudge, that is just not true. He doesn't have to "fess up" to anything because he hasn't done anything wrong. All this speculation and gossip about this man is based on two things - the comment about the "daisy chain" that LP made and this story which does NOT report what Kronk SAID, but what someone thinks he might have thought.

There is ZERO evidence that this man did anything wrong. Nothing. Zip. Nada. He wasn't the only person to conjecture that the body was at that site. Other people thought the same thing, including the police. There is NO quote or evidence of him even remotely suggesting that he saw a skull back in August. He isn't the one who said that. An anonymous source who isn't backed up by anyone else, who hasn't given a name, in a story that isn't more than two paragraphs has now cast serious suspicion on the ONE person who has done something positive in this case and that's bringing closure to thousands of people who worried about where this kid might be.

The defense doesn't need this story to melt down Kronk under cross.

Yes there is and I fixed it at soon as I caught it. It was not a conspiracy.

If anyone likes the prospect of a "daisy chain" (with Kronk as a daisy) leading back to Anthony family members (and/or Baez) who knew exactly where the body was - they may also like a prosecution who rips into Kronk (on the stand) for possibly witholding info on informants which could be traced backwards to an Anthony or Baez.

Many here may be totally shocked to find that the prosecutors, during trial examination, treat Kronk like a liar who won't tell the full story.

Well, why would they want to melt him down? Wouldn't they want to get him off the stand asap?

"Why did you go into these woods, Mr. Kronk?"
Answer 1

"Well, I thought your client was guilty as hell and after following the story and reading how her friend thought she might have dumped the little body there, I decided to go look."

Answer 2.

"Well my supervisor knows the Anthonys and he told me that they knew the body was there so I went and looked and sure enough there was the little body."

If I imagine I'm Kronk with a big child-care debt that I need to pay off (case reward will do just fine) and I have a friend that is a neighbor of the Anthony's, I start thinking about inside info opportunities.

The BIG huge reward $225K IIRC was only for finding LIVE Caylee.

By my measure, he does.

I think he was immediately successful and then took time out (afternoon discovery, evening reporting) to try and figure out ("we") the best way to handle the situation while keeping open the potential to collect the reward.

Again, the BIG reward was only for a LIVE Caylee. At one time LP put a $50K reward for anyone to call and tell him where the body was (and that person could remain anonymous) - LP only put it out there for a short time. So IF RK was really "only in it for the reward" he could have called LP and cashed in on at least $50K - but he didn't because he wasn't sure he had found anything and until his curiousity got the better of him in Dec. he hadn't found anything.

Yes, it appears that is exactly what he did, he was rude and blew RK off and wrote in the report it was just trash. he never checked the contents of the bag.
Additionally, this same officer looked at another bag containing clothing and simply left it there. He should really be fired.

snipped

But he did say he saw something "white & round" in at least one of his calls..He also said a few other things but that stood out to me & my guess is it did to him too but for whatever reason it sounds like he didn't stress it enough to LE..Even so it should've stood out to them (of all ppl) so why didn't it?

The complete contents of the 911 calls have not been released- we don't know all of what he said when he called in.

August 11, 1:30pm county employee Kronk and co-worker have finished reading their assigned meters for the day and wasting an hour in the shade near the corner of Suburban and Hopesprings before reporting back to the office. (Translation - they are still on the county clock but are goofing off for an hour. Who here can goof off for an hour at work? Silly me, but it seems like they each are stealing an hour's pay from the county) Kronk thinks it is a good spot to dump a body, so he takes a look and voila'! he sees something "white and round", a tree that someone has been cutting on (?), a white board of some kind and a dead rattler.

What does he tell co-worker?
Why does he wait until 9:30-10:00pm to make the first call about this "suspicious" find?
(someone said he doesn't get off work until 9:30pm, but I suggest that his work day ended at 2:30pm, per his own recounting of the day and furthermore no one reads meters at night and it is impossible to be "finished" by 1:30 and still have 8 hours until the end of the work day.)

GSJ also gets near the dump site that day, but finds nothing.

August 12. Kronk did not receive any follow up call, so he calls again at around 9:30pm.

Somewhere in these two calls he says "I am not saying it is Caylee Anthony, but. . . " and "not if they find a body" when talking about remaining anonymous with his tip.

August 13. He calls again and this time meets with a deputy at the scene. He points to the area/thing he saw 2 days earlier, tells the cop about the snakes and the dead rattler is there still, but the cop is "rude", takes a cursory look, sees nothing and does nothing. However, the cop is at the scene for 40 minutes which is a lot of time for "doing nothing" if you ask me. The cop reports that he saw nothing but garbage. Neither of them venture past the water line. Kronk does not say that he could still see the suspicious thing on that day. LP says they were 150 feet away from the dump site at the wrong set of cement pavers. (Wrong set of pavers? Someone (RK) knew to look for pavers?)

September. No one reports going to the area. LP stated that Kronk was there on the 2d or 7th, I couldn't understand what he said.

October. Nothing.

November 15,16. PI's are in the area, but not near the dump site and find nothing. A's are not home.

December 11. Kronk returns to the site, the water is down now and he searches. He uncovers a skull.

January. Kronk, in retrospect, believes he saw the skull in August.

Kronk never mentioned a skull to the cop or in any of his calls. Kronk says the skull fell out of a plastic bag when he kicked it, or picked it up.

Kronk has issues from the past, was once a bounty hunter and IMHO didn't want to admit he was goofing off at his brand new job in August. I am wondering why he was not more informative in his calls or when the cop showed up and why he was critical of the cop.

However, Kronk is putting the body at the scene on August 11, when KC was out on bond. So good for him. Quirky guy? You bet. We will find out more.

I'm with you on this. If I saw anything questionable in that area, (especially what looked like a hard object, the color of a skull), I would not stop until someone paid full attn. to me. I wouldn't rest until it was checked out. That's just very persistent me though.

Edited to add---Not bashing the guy. Just in agreement with raeann on how I would have handled it.

I am not bashing this man either, but I really don't believe he just stumbled upon this bag. He was a Bounty Hunter for many years, an investigator of sorts, with knowledge, equipment & abilities to unearth & discover beyond the scope of the average Joe. Even though, now a county worker, he has not abandoned his sleuthing prowness, & I believe, with the attention to this case, fancies himself a hunter once more!

Why that one particular bag.....it was reported this morning that there were so many garbage bags in that area, as seen with DC on the video thrashing thru multiple bags.......but Kronk only has one bag on his mind??:waitasec::waitasec: I don't buy it! He derived information, maybe quite innocently from some other means, which brought his focus to the right one. JMO

The utility workers are not permitted to return to their dispatch center until 2:30. It doesn't matter when you complete your work, you are required to stay in the area in which you are working until your work day is complete.

Don't ask me why, but I verified this.

MRs could be done reading meters at 10:30 AM but they are not permitted to return until after 2:30.

Their computers do have GPS so the managers can track where they are and how long they are there.

It's the rules- they did not steal an hour. They have no choice but to sit around until they are permitted to return.

Strange philosophy but true.

WESH is now reporting that RK believes he actually saw the skull on August 11... thus his fixation on that particular bag. And I think you're right... he put his experience to work on the case and went snooping around those woods on the off-chance he would come across something... and he did.

And as we speak, KC is sitting in her cell, pen and paper in hand trying to figure out how she can spin this strawman into gold!

Not lying about moving or even touching the body. Instead, lying about any credible tips given to him personally, and/or tips that he passed on to others after Aug 11.

Probably have to stay in there area in case there is a repair issue or something dispatch needs them to verify for them. The guys back at the office or the repair guys do not have to worry about a couple of hours of their time going to waste while they wait for someone to go the area. During those hours they know someone is there. MOO

Maybe she can make some colorful drawreingssssss.....and the A's can sell them on EBay.

Ya know, some of us have hinky meters going off, some of us don’t. I seem to go back and forth, depending on what talking head I have listened to that day. (or which good theory I read on WS ) What I do know is that if LE were on the television every single day, explaining their version of the RK discovery, I would tend to believe them.

So....the hinky version which somehow involves the A camp:

August - KC out on bond. She tells “someone” what happened and where the body is dumped. “Someone” somehow gets a tip to the local ex bounty hunter/meter reader who goes to investigate. Calls cops, nothing.

November - PI’s decide to go themselves to find the body (from the information “someone” gave them). Maybe they did find something. Maybe not.

December - ex bounty hunter/meter reader is told to go back to site and find the body. Which he did.

HOW DOES THIS HELP OR HURT THE DEFENSE? We all know the prosecution wouldn’t be taking part in any shenanigans. If they found the body, by God they would let everyone know because that was the piece of the puzzle that was missing for them.

SO...if anything untoward is in fact going on between the other “players”.......WHY? I wish someone would throw a theory out that would show just exactly HOW THAT WOULD HELP THE DEFENSE????
