On July 19th (July 19th as per first statement on transcript- transcribed August 12th) Detective Wells conducts an interview with Kiomarie Cruz while sitting in his vehicle in front of Hidden Oaks Elementary.

Respectfully snipped by me. Did you notice that it was almost 10 at night (9:53 PM) when this interview took place? That would not support anything but a cursory peek in the dark. It couldn't really be considered any kind of search IMO.

Instead of getting mired down in the somewhat baffling aspects of RK's explanation about how he located Caylee's remains, let's focus for a moment on what we KNOW to be TRUE:

No matter what lead RK to the specific area where Caylee's remains were--whether it was ESP or inside knowledge--this much is indisputable: He WANTED LE to discover those remains! (Surely there can be no other explanation for his phone calls to LE in August and again on December 11.)

I can only conclude that his failure to force the issue with Cain--by marching him back to the exact spot, if necessary--shows that either (1) RK wasn't positive what the bag contained or (2) RK wasn't certain himself exactly where the bag was located.

If the answer is (2), then common sense dictates that RK had nothing whatsoever to do with placing the bag there. It does, however, open the question of how/why he had reason to believe the bag was in that area--a strong enough reason that he called LE out to the site, hoping LE would be able to locate and recover the bag.

If the answer is (1), then he clearly had nothing whatsoever to do with putting the bag there; he had no knowledge of what was really in the bag; and he didn't want to pursue the matter in August for a variety of innocuous reasons--ordinary laziness, for example.

Regardless of all, or any, of the above, the indisputable fact remains that RK wanted LE to have Caylee's remains. In my mind, that makes RK one of "the good guys" to a greater or lesser degree. I'll continue to think of him as that until someone shows me positive proof that he is a "bad guy," and by "bad guy," I mean that he's covering up evidence relating to Caylee's death or her killer.

Personally, I find some of his story and explanations odd, but I think that's the result of his lame efforts to preserve what he can of his dignity and privacy--all of which would have been intact if he'd remained an anonymous tipster as he'd tried to do.

I am so glad that RK found Caylee. I can't help but think if one sees a skull, though, it doen't take months to remember that. Trivial things like where those keys got lost or something, but if it is a skull, it would make an impression.

When he "thought" he remembered seeing a skull, I thought I saw puppet strings. As if the puppetmaster needed the little body found before the next act of the play could begin. Odd about the play in Australia, it gives me a Shakespearean feeling of a play within a play. When the strings are pulled, will the puppet speak his own lines or cut and run?

I trust LE...to my knowledge that specific area was not searched. I don't generally put stock in a blog. It will be interesting to see/hear OCSO's version.

I generally do not take stock in blogs either. I merely quoted the date of the hurricane, from the blog, to show that the area reported in the news was searched before the hurricane came through.

The August 5th search, reported by Phil Keating in the youtube link I posted, was not at night. Kiomarie's interview with Detective Wells prompted that search.

One of the things that always keeps me confused when reading or hearing about these searches is the descriptors that the people use (plus my own lack of knowledge since I have never visited the area). Not knowing where the entrance to the school is I can't be sure which is which (as related to north, south, east or west side). Is there anyone who is familiar with the school that can tell me? TIA! (And, how would anyone describe the area that Caylee was eventually found in relationship to the school ~ to the side of the school?)

Thanks. Tropical Storm Fay aggravated an already "wet" Orlando. Florida experiences consideral rainfall amounts during the summer months. The swamps were no doubt filled with water.

Just to let you know, in Florida you can have 15 inches of rain and and they will keep us on water restrictions. It has never made any sense to me. It is better to determine by records than to hear news reports that Florida is a drought. iMO

Same thing here...go figure. I know that the Spring was kinda dry for you in 2007...until Barry came through.

I truly believe it is so that they can send out the water police to levy fines if you over use your irrigation systems.

That may be because there is 5 million people in South Florida alone and 18 million in the state. Do you know how much water that is daily? I don't, but it has to be a lot.

I don't agree that common sense says that Mr. Kronk had nothing to do with placing Caylee where she was found. The circumstances surrounding Mr. Kronk's discovery of Caylee are extremely strange and very puzzling.

My notes have two other men being with Mr. Kronk when he first, allegedly, saw Caylee's skull (skulls are not black) in August. However, neither of those men say they saw anything or that they could see what Mr. Kronk thought he saw. Moreover, after calling in to the tip line on August 11, 12 and 13th, LE finally sent Mr. Cain out to investigate, and, like the men who were with Mr. Kronk and the searchers, Mr. Cain didn't find or see anything either.

Then in December, Mr. Kronk goes to relieve himself in those rattlesnake infested woods and, presto, he amazingly discovers a black plastic bag with what looks like a dome in it. He soon found that dome to be Caylee's skull. Obviously, finding her skull inside the black plastic bag does not at all reconcile with Mr. Kronk saying that he thinks what he saw in August was Caylee's skull.

I'm not saying that Mr. Kronk placed Caylee's remains where they were found. Still, the area is but a short distance from the Anthony home, and it had been previously searched. So Mr. Kronk is going to have a ton of explaining and reconciling to do when he's on the witness stand.

Assuming all the 'hinkiness' that the above alleges, then the A family or their investigators must have "broken down" RK into a confession prior to their search in Nov of the same area. However, RK remains neither a suspect with LE nor has he been charged of any crime.

Even better, using the prior "if you're there, then you're involved" defense, DC then would be involved in this massive conspiracy against KC since he was in the same area poking around prior to Caylee's remains being discovered.

Yet, the defense has not had a scintilla of luck pointing the finger away from their client. Interesting.

Some say that plants were growing through the skull. If true, doesn't it makes you wonder about Mr. Kronk allegedly finding the skull inside a black plastic bag?

I was wondering why the officer with Kronk didn't smell something? I know by this time between the water and other garbage around there, there had to be some kind of smell, why didn't somebody smell something? Besides checking out the bag?

There are some good google earth maps in the sticky section that show an overview of where Caylee's location on Suburban was in reference to the school. Also wftv had a good map of the crime scene as well at some point, IIRC. (I'll look and see if I can find it) Suburban road runs rather diagonally in reference to Hopespring and it dead ends at the school, which is north and east of both. The areas that Kio described are supposedly directly across from the school and are not at all in the exact area that Caylee's remains were found. The general area where Caylee was found was part of a larger wooded area that kids may have played in growing up. The pictures I saw taken by TM's group showed several grassy openings and some paths but much of it was densely overgrown. By the way, Wudge, most of FL is snake-infested. They crawl across lawns right into garages. Sometimes the more populated areas have more of them, ostensibly because they are displaced from their natural habitat. Most people are more concerned with keeping an eye out for 'gators, imo.

That may be because there is 5 million people in South Florida alone and 18 million in the state. Do you know how much water that is daily? I don't, but it has to be a lot.

FL sits on a series of limestone caverns filled with water. The fact that the water level is dropping - due to overpopulation - is also a reason for the sinkholes that keep happening. The aquafir is in big trouble there and it just can't rain enough to make up for it, I've heard.

Here is a photo that was published in the Orlando Sentinel. The school is at the terminus of Suburban Drive - which would put it in the top right hand corner of the photo.

I thought I remember him saying as soon as he found the bag he picked it up and the skull fell out. Now wouldn't it have broken into pieces with plants growing through the skull it should have broken into pieces, right?
