Indiana State Police will be searching a Ferdinand lake after they received a tip that the body of a missing Perry County boy could be found in the lake.

Indiana State Police and local dive teams searched Newtown Lake today in hopes of finding the remains of a Perry County teen who went missing nearly 20 years ago.

13-year-old Ricky Thomas Jr. was last seen by his stepfather back on November 6, 1997 in Bristow, but hasn’t been seen since.

Still no answers in the search for a boy who’s been missing for nearly 20 years.

Indiana State Police said Thursday that a search of New Town Lake in Ferdinand for the body of Ricky Lane Thomas found nothing.

Another appeal has been issued in a 19-year-old cold case because today would be the missing person’s 33rd birthday, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Ricky Lane Thomas Jr., 13, Bristow, disappeared without a trace in November 1997.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has released an age-progressed photo of what an adult Ricky might look like.

The agency is asking that anyone with information about Ricky contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST) or the Indiana State Police at 812-482-1441.

I remember when he went missing like it was yesterday. I think this was close to the interstate. They never found the dog either IIRC. I think its possible someone snatched him from there. I sure wish something would happen in this case.
