According to a news release from the Brownsburg Police Department, on Wednesday, April 12, officials were notified that Sara Seymour, 27, and Debra Kanipe, 63, reportedly mistreated a 7-year-old student during lunch at Brown Elementary in February.

In the video, police said Seymour, also a life skills teacher, and Kanipe, a life skills instructional aide, were seen standing on each side of the child. Seymour then allegedly handed the child a spoon, and the student ate some of his vomit. Afterward, police said the footage shows the child cleaning up the rest of his vomit with paper towels.

Twenty-four-year-old Megan King, a registered behavioral technician, and 38-year-old Kirsten Mitchell, a life skills instructional aide, were also reportedly present but didn’t report the incident.

Sorry ladies, those aren't life skills. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

Well this makes my blood boil. Life skills teacher, life skills aide.. the article also mentions a registered behavior technician and another life skills teacher that didn't report this.. these titles tell me that they work with special needs children. This child likely had some sort of disability. And CLEARLY have no business working with any children, let alone the most vulnerable.

not that it might matter but wonder why he gagged, if this was a symptom of a condition, or a rare occurrence brought on by myriad of things.

or something hinky with the food itself that made him gag.

O/T - if my dog throws up her pill, I don't feed it back to her in her own vomit. IYKWIM

4 terminated, 1 non-district employee criminally charged. Interesting that an MSM source goes mainstream with the word "puke":
At a Brownsburg Community School Corporation meeting on Monday night, the school board approved the termination or resignation of four staffers involved in a lunchroom incident where a special-needs student was mistreated and subjected to eating his own puke.

The staffers were identified as:

  • Life Skills teacher Sara Seymour, 27
    • Terminated
  • Life Skills instructional aide Debra Kanipe, 63
    • Terminated
  • Life Skills teacher Julie Taylor, 48
    • Resigned
  • Life Skills instructional aide Kristen Mitchell, 38
    • Terminated
Meghan King, a 24-year-old registered behavioral technician working for Kids Count, was also criminally charged. However, she is not a BCSC employee and therefore cannot resign from or be terminated by the school.
