GUILTY IN - Tiffany Alberts charged with injecting feces in son's IV during cancer treatment, 2016

What happens if he does die from leukemia? This is so horrible.

Veta, remember, insulin syringes can be purchased at drug stores everywhere, and, tho not optimal for flushing lines, it wouldn't take much fecal matter mixed with water to contaminate somebody's bloodstream. Likely, if she had the mindset to hurt him, anything could have been used. Urine, liquid from anything he might have thrown up, spoiled milk...the possibilities are endless if you're cracked up enough to consider hurting somebody, even your child.
Years ago, on Unsolved Mysteries, a woman killed two husbands by making them sick, and then becoming their sole caregiver while they were recuperating. Both died. When the daughter got sick, and this started all over again, the older brother started his own investigation. He got his sister put in the hosp, mom was arrested and was convicted and sent to prison. A few years later, she escaped, and when authorities found her, she had died from exposure. Poetic justice?

Has anyone read what her husband died from in May?

I read somewhere pulmonary embolism (sp?) but that was reddit so not necessarily reliable.

I browsed her facebook page. It struck me that there were several other posts about needing to take sick kids to the hospital for stomach problems. Scary to think she might have done more than what's been reported.

The other scary part was how ridiculously normal she seemed, at least on facebook. Not a hint of crazy.

Really chilling, if you think about it an embolism can be caused by injecting nothing in a syringe , but air ............................................................

and then I thought i wonder if any of "us" can see if :

This illness involves psychological abuse and may also include physical abuse and medical neglect if symptoms are induced rather than just made up.

it would be interesting to learn about her up bringing and "marriage"

Her husbands name is Jason.

special education teacher - very needy population.

family......several tragedies over the years

would be interesting to discover what all these "tragedies" involved??

a month later, that the woman’s teen son who suffers a mild form of autism was diagnosed with leukemia in July.

lives in Wolcott

his first round of chemotherapy in September and was sent home.

he returned days later with a fever and was experiencing diarrhea and vomiting, according to court documents. ugh.........

had to undergo several surgeries and spent 18 days in the intensive care unit, documents show.

initially told investigators she had injected water into her son's IV bag to 'flush the line' because the medicine he was given 'burned.'

Once Alberts was removed from her son's hospital room, his health improved,

doctors expressed concern they may have missed their window to keep the boy's leukemia in remission and that he could die from leukemia due to the prolonged delay in treatment,

Jason Alberts

been in treatment at Riley Hospital for Children since July 26

Alberts' 13-year-old daughter was diagnosed with follicular adnexal carcinoma cancer that was removed this spring. Can be caused by medications?? Oh brother.

Trying to find out what medications they are.

another thing that hit me, when I saw the following picture, I thought what would make a mother with a child that had (below) on face. I would think a typical reaction would be my teen has some acne, for some reason miss mom here took her eval and guess what she has a skin disease that can be caused by medication?

No, she was referring to her own kids.

Anyone know husbands name??

When I hear about these awful medical child abuse cases there seem to be a lot of common themes. Attention seems to be a major one. What strikes me as odd about this case is that her child obviously has a legitimate, life-threatening illness (Leukemia.) That just doesn't seem to match the pattern at all. I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but this seems more nefarious rather than psychological in nature.

EDIT: I just read her daughter was supposedly diagnosed with cancer this year as well. So, two children with cancer. The ailments are really starting to stack up. I think we're going to find out this goes a lot farther.

I'm not posting links to facebook pages because they have her children's full names and pictures on them and, while the pages are public and anyone can search for them, I don't necessarily think it's a good idea to post direct links. Here's an article I found that mentions the various tragedies this family has had in the last year alone.

I hope they would be able to add further charges... Manslaughter, maybe.

Holy. And e had a CENTRAL line!!! My son had a PICC and we had to flush that baby daily to avoid any infections. Even though my son was only stage 2b I was terrified of losing him. I just don't get it. Sick.

I am very interested in all the tragedy that has been experienced "over the years??

Having no luck thus far in finding out what medications can lead to the onset of what the daughter developed. Basically want to see if mom could have gotten for something else, somehow knowing it could develop into something attn grabbing.

IIRC this malady does not have like a quick onset, so I am wondering if she "harmed" (so she could caretake/get attn) earlier in her life (siblings?)

Her childhood would be interesting to see if it was the "climate" to develop MUN

A benefit in your honor is certainly attn.

Earlier this month, a benefit was held by the Remington Fire Department to help support the Alberts family and the tragedies they have endured over the years.

Authorities said the incidents began back in September, shortly after Alberts’ son went home after undergoing his first round of chemotherapy.

My gut feeling is that this is about greed. They had a fundraiser that raised over $40,000 on gofundme and it looks like there were several other fundraisers on the side. Pure speculation, but I think most of the ailments are probably legitimate, but had largely been resolved. This may have been about keeping her son in the hospital and on the brink of death in order to draw the sympathy of donors.

The husband's death is suspicious. Not sure if it's related or simply a coincidence.

CM has several different causes. It can be caused by structural defects in the brain and spinal cord that occur during fetal development, whether caused by genetic mutations or lack of proper vitamins or nutrients in the maternal diet. This is called primary or congenital CM. It can also be caused later in life if spinal fluid is drained excessively from the lumbar or thoracic areas of the spine either due to injury, exposure to harmful substances, or infection. This is called acquired or secondary CM. Primary CM is much more common than secondary CM.

Just sayin some of them certainly seem to reflect poor genes.

Autism x 2
Hearing loss could be a hit
Chiari malformation above
Follicular Adnexal Carcinoma can be caused by medications
Brain tumor (husband) wonder if this is true- was it only reported by Tiffany?
Pulomonary embolism (husband) injection of air by syringe
Leukemia

all specuation

I have Chiari Malformation Type 1. There is a wide spread of severity when it comes to Chiari that isn't necessarily related to herniation depth or anything like that. I had decompression surgery, which is technically brain surgery and sounds quite serious, but I continued to serve on active duty for years afterward. Some people can be totally disabled by Chiari.

Wow. I have alot of reading up to do here! Sounds like to me, ALL of mom's screws are loose. I can't imagine losing a husband and then not only having two sick kids, but one with a potentially life-threatening outcome, and deliberately doing things to possibly end his life.
When I was became a widow at a young age, I was so afraid something might happen to one of my kids, I was a wreck every time they got a cold, or fell down and got hurt for probably two years before I relaxed and told myself "they're kids, they are going to get colds, scrapes, and bruises just like every other kid on the planet!" I could no more hurt one of my kids for any reason in the world. I wonder if this woman KNOWS she is sick?
As far as her moving out of state, is probably a blessing for her son. The courts may have felt the same way, as in get her away from her very ill son, so maybe he can get well!

I just feel so bad for the kids. I can't even imagine. Losing their father and then their mother as well because she tried to harm one of them? That's a lot to deal with.
