I'm confused as to why the article quotes the father as saying Ayden was asleep in the back seat as he was taking him to school at 8 am. That's odd.

And "started to drift" may have been a result of texting. I admit I have done it myself, and nearly hit a curb. No more texting unless I'm at a complete stop for me.

I wonder if he could have been falling asleep himself. Grief can cause insomnia.

That was my thought. I think losing a child puts you in a state of distraction regardless of what else you might be doing.

I can't imagine the pain right now. This is totally unreal.

This has been a really rough year for my family. After reading this, however, I'm going to stop complaining and find someone who needs my help. Godspeed to this family. My heart is crushed with theirs.

Sorry for your family. Hopefully things will look up for you. I just read this news today and am so sad for this poor family. I just can't even believe it. They'll have to be so strong
