Alleged Serial killer Aadesh Khamra, who was arrested by the Bhopal Police in Mandideep in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district, has confessed to killing 33 people, all of whom were truck drivers or their helpers. Khamra, who is a tailor by profession and was taken into custody on September 8, confessed that the murders were committed between 2007 and August 2018 on highways after the targets were befriended by Khamra's gang members at food joints, and drugged.
According to the Bhopal Police, after Khamra killed his unsuspecting targets, he dumped their bodies in isolated locations and sold off the trucks in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The robbed goods were sold with the help of local gangs.
The murders to which Khamra confessed were committed across Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
The Bhopal Police has so far received queries about 86 such highway robberies and murders from various states across the country.
