Thanks!!! I emailed him too...he's sleeping, but he's dead set on staying another week. I guess it's better than him going to the airport right now...sigh. I'm having a really hard time today :(
(((Sassy))) (((Big Tex))) I am keeping an eye on this situation also.
I still have not heard from my friend and I do not know what her plans were or are. I hope I hear from her soon.

My friend is back safe and sound. her email :

Dear Jillian,

I am home. I did not have access to email as I thought I would. . I know so many were worried. I borrowed a phone to let my brother know I was okay as the news was very scary to hear. The attack on Mumbai was exactly the time I arrived in New Delhi. I was considerable miles from Mumbai but the news at the airport was frightening. It did affect many Assembly attendees as the Mumbai airport was closed and so people got stuck in Germany and Africa at airports waiting to get into India. By midnight that day the airport at Mumbai resumed its activities. Mumbai is on the west of India. I was on the east coast of India over 800 miles away but yes I am sure it was shocking. I know of at least 4 people who were killed that were friends of my friends. Very sad, tragic. Such contrast to what I was in India for. For life and not death. For peace and not for war.
.
Where I stayed in Mayapur was an oasis in the midst of poverty, filth and overpopulation. I didn't fall in love with India as I had in RIO in 2002 but the people are so beautiful with brown eyes and skin and so warm with a charm all their own. Of course being in a city that is owned and founded by ISKCON was a gift of beauty and sacred hospitality. I was well taken care of and this enabled me to do well despite being ill. And to be a Native American is a big deal there so I got attention I normally wouldn't. An Indian among real real Indians. Tee hee.

I am happy to say the Global Assembly was successful.
My completion with the outgoing GlobalCouncil and the beginning of the new Council was noteworthy. So now I continue through 2012. Next stop-Jordan in June.
I love you.

Pakistani authorities say they have arrested a radical cleric and U.S.-wanted terror suspect blamed for the 2008 Mumbai attacks, just days ahead of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s trip to Washington.

Counterterrorism official Mohammad Shafiq says Hafiz Saeed was taken into custody in Punjab province on Wednesday while he was traveling from the eastern city of Lahore to the city of Gujranwala.

He said Saeed appeared before a judge and was ordered held in jail until the next hearing.

Saeed founded the Lashkar-e-Taiba group blamed for the Mumbai attacks. The U.S. has offered $10 million for him.
