If a thread gets pulled, can a quick notification be posted somewhere so members are aware? Thank you.

Often the threads involving minors are removed when resolved.

Other threads are removed at family members' request.

You might be notified that a post was deleted, but imho this wouldn't be an easy thing to set up?

All threads involving minors or just certain ones?

All threads involving minors or just certain ones?

Calling a beloved Moderator to have a real answer: @MadMcGoo

jmho: if a missing minor is found, that thread is removed if this was primarily a family (civil) matter. This protects the minor.

If there is someone charged, this is a criminal matter & more likely to remain. This protects the public.

Threads are pulled on a daily basis for numerous reasons. As it stands, it’d not be feasible to notify members or announce the removal of a thread and the reasoning behind it. Each of them is handled on a case by case basis.

Now, you would be notified (I’m fairly positive) if you’re the one who created the thread. That’s about the “realest” answer I can provide. :D

Hope this helps!

Thank you everyone!

Edited to add: So, if you can no longer find a thread, don't question why you cannot find it?

Well, sometimes I can't find a thread because my typing is awful, sometimes I can't figure out the right words to type, and occasionally I've found the Search box to be wonky.

But that could be my typing, spelling, word choice, phase of the moon....

Sometimes, it works to open a new Google/browser tab, and type what you're looking for followed by the word Websleuths. That will sometimes even find the disabled link to a deleted thread.

Which at least shows you weren't hallucinating, right?
