Some of us here, like me, have more than one theory. NONE is an IDI, however. I also feel the flashlight was the murder weapon, although I do see where it can be thought that she was slammed into a tub or sink. I feel a hard blow with the edge of the heavy end of the flashlight was enough to punch a hole like that in her skull, whereas I think it would take repeated blows to exactly the same spot if it were from slamming into a tub or sink. And there had to be a more implicating reason why the flashlight AND batteries was wiped clean of all prints. If it was just used to walk around in the dark, WHY wipe it down? After all, it did belong to the R's. (even if they denied it). Their denial of owning it was also suspect. It was ridiculous to say "well we have one just like that one but THAT one isn't ours". How idiotic a statement is that?
I also have read Dr. Wecht's book, and I agree with much of what he had to say.
Although Coroner Meyer's report stated "ligature strangulation associated with cerebrocranial trauma", I don't know that a different coroner would have worded it that way. I would have liked to see it worded so that there was a primary cause of death. As has been mentioned, the head bash would have been fatal, whether or not the ligature was applied.
