Internet Involvement in Haleigh's Case: Obsession?

  • #21
Lisa I agree with you one hundred fold. Where I part ways with you, and maybe not actually, as you didn't comment specifically about what I'm going to mention.

The latest DCF allegations made against Ron was made by not eyewitnesses, family, school, LE, neighbors, or eye witness account. Tim Miller is the one claiming this alledged event, and yet weeks went by and only til he had to start defending his most recent questionable behaviors, did he mention this episode. Then is when an internet poster, imo, overstepped boundaries of a families right to privacy and protection under our constitutional laws and rights afforded American Citizens.

It use to mean something to be An American. The allegations were called in to not only DCF, LE, FBI and only them know who else, including letters and posts all over the internet furthering a rumor causing hysteria and public internet involvement in turn causing even more posters to report same incident. Thus overwhelming the system, which we pay for with our tax dollars. Based on what they read and heard on the internet. Not witnessing said event. This is troubling to me as a parent, as a citizen.

Don't let it trouble you too much, there was another witness at the gun incident. It wasn't just Tim's word.

I agree with you about rumors, but IN THIS CASE, Jr is living in a home where a child is has already gone mysteriously missing from. All I am saying, regardless of rumor or not, does it hurt to check it out? What would we all be saying if nothing was done because it was a rumor, and then we heard that some sort of horrific accident occured to that baby??
I agree that there are people looking to insert themselves where they don't belong. Also, I believe that some are angry over TM's remarks about MK (I am too!) but that does not mean what he reported did not happen.

Of course all this is moo, and based on what I have read on the internet.

ETA: It still does mean something to be an AMERICAN, especially in my house.

no it does trouble me. It only further validates to me if it's true there was another witness. Why didn't they call?

Because I venture to say, "They knew darn well if, if if, I wasn't there personally, Ron did do anything of the sort, he was acting out accordingly to the content and conversations of the moment in time with these alledged witnesses Tim and Steph Watts".

When my hubby was killed, I grabbed a 22 little Jackass pistol I had in my purse, my Mother next door, wouldn't leave me alone concerning my 4 year old daughter. Constantly judging me, so I grabbed the little pistol that was smaller than my hand and threatened to kill myself if people didn't leave me alone. My daughter was outside dressed and ready to be driven to school. She was mad because she never liked me dressing or brushing her hair. War every morning in my home for years. And my Mama involved herself when she should have minded her own biz. BTW, my daugher has sensory issues so she doesn't like anyone to this day touching her unless she gives permission. At the time though, she was four, we hadn't discovered the sensory issue, yet!!!! She didn't like the way her dress felt.

And of course, my Mama told her friend, and they called DCF, but it got changed around to "I had threatened to kill my daughter with a gun". So I got me a nice visit from a young little thang from social services with two big fat sheriffs deputies brandishing their badges and guns. hahahahaha

I invited them in, within ten minutes of me crawling their bazookas, they apologized and left, social worker sent me my "unfounded" official letter in the mail. A side note" deceased hubby only buried two weeks when this happened. They were worried about my emotional state. :snooty:

ETA: I'm not condoning pulling our your guns and doing things, but some people can drive you crazy, busy bodies I say.

Let's just agree on this one thing. TM gets up every single morning with one goal in mind. To find the next missing person. TM has no reason to lie to anyone. None. Yep, he's human. He even makes mistakes but that man is as honest as the day is long and I didn't get that information from the internet. Kapeesh?

Agree, especially with what I bolded. In most all instances, it is true. Better safe than sorry, and this philosophy is a good one. But in the Haleigh Cummings case, not so much. Due to what we know they have been put through, this particular time, much more care needs to be used in interjecting ourselves and making these allegations. Maybe an avenue to have sleuthed before bombarding LE, DCF and FBI, and internet world with hysteria, maybe have actually contacted Tim or Steph, or someone and inquired about the situation before a non-eyewitness using nothing more than hear say going into this type of reporting. It's just my opinion, and I appreciate yours.

Beautiful avie, appreciate your bottom line siggy also. Haven't seen you around, but I invite you to come often, your posts are well written and genuinely full of caring for Haleigh. Thanks.

Wow, sorry for what you went through, and glad that you and your daughter are doing well now. I also have to say that must have been a tough decision for your mom and I think it was honorable that she put her heart aside to look after you & your daughters best interests. I think my only point is, I would open myself up to whatever investigations, criticisms, questions etc that le would have, even suspect me and do whatever they have to do to rule me out, just get on with protecting / finding my children. I always say the truly innocent have nothing to fear.

Kapeesh? felt a little disrespectful, but getting back to the admirable truth in this post, I have no problem giving good credit where it's due. This thread really isn't about Tim afterall. Tim will continue to do great things, and I support his efforts while searching. Peace

I don't agree on that, but that's ok, we don't have to.

on what Ms. Sweet Flossie, on my last post? I respect your opinion here on Haleigh's forum. I don't agree with my "Gun" incident either. LOL

Lisa, thank you for the kind wishes, Daughter and me are the best ever in our relationship. She's 21 years old and honored to say I'm Pleased with her in all her ways. I think I bug her sometimes, though. lol

http://jacksonville.com/news/florid...leigh_cummings_mystery_feeds_online_obsession

The disappearance of 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings eight months ago occurred about the time Ellen Johnson got Internet access at home in east Texas.
"I didn't even have a computer in my house until just before this," she said.
Now, the 46-year-old petroleum engineer has a Twitter account called haleighnewz dedicated to the case and at summer's end, was in Putnam County to help with a school supply drive for Haleigh's classmates. Johnson met Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, and grandmother Marie Griffis there. She spends hours sharing her thoughts online and probing for information about the ongoing investigation.
It is as if the Internet has removed a wall. more at link above.....

Many sleuthers have been saying this for a while now. Interesting article, I think the reporter "Dana Treen" did a great job in this article interviewing several people on the subject.

This is good news, means that I am not as obsessed as I thought. I don't know where she finds the time. I can hardly keep up with this forum.

Makes us feel normal eh. How about my new avie siggy? Now I have really justified my time spent here, hehehehe It originated from a lovely pm from a new member last night concerning my son, she made me feel so safe concerning my children. She doesn't participate in this forum, but that's what inspired my thought.

No disrespect intended. Just trying to be a little less heavy in my posts. Since you brought up TM in your post, I responded......that's all.

The only persons making these reports should be the witnesses themselves, but if reports are made by non-witnesses, then they should be verified with the witness before the agency takes any action. I believe that in most casses this is what they do. They do not or should not waste time on rumors.

Thank you, I can relate to the lightning up. We shouldn't lose each other in all of this. It's something we need to keep an eye on, even for ourselves to make sure we don't get to involved. Our families are more important.

Do we have any new news thats revealing in this case?

Something I've been thinking about all morn, we have this new young girl missing in Clay county with the amber alert. Isn't that 3 now missing? Could it be the same person? Not to mention there was an attempted abduction last week, so this perp wouldn't stop til he got his victim. That's what makes me ponder moreso possible involvement. I think we that follow Haleighs case might be served well by watching this other case unfold.

I've got the feeling a lot of us are on the same wave length with the latest report of a Somer Renee Thompson out of Clay County. How far is Clay County from Putnam County?

Thats what I want to know. Darn, our good posters like SS and Cajun who we have relied on are in cognito. I miss em. I'll try to do a map, Lord helps us all. Be back soon, unless I self destruct on this mission impossible. Guess I would google Satsuma and clay county. LOL

In Somers thread in the missing forums here, there are posted maps, links, photos etc... go look.
here goes:

67.7 miles from Somer's house to Green lane if you travel down I 95
58.3 miles from house to green lane traveling down US 17 and 70 miles traveling down route FL 100 S

One to two hours away. You can travel a mile a minute down the interstate. I would say one and a half hours in location differences between Somers disappearnce/abduction and Haleighs. This is bad and sad. The registered sex offenders in that area of florida is bad. ten within one mile of the school that Somer was walking home from. Alledged attempted abduction 10 days earlier block away from where Somer went missing. I'm keeping a close eye out to see if there's any connection.

Another LE news conference scheduled in a few minutes on HLN News. Check it out. LE is keeping regular pressers, good for them. This is heart breaking. Poor baby. Return her home. Someone find her quickly. I pray.
