Internet legend Grumpy Cat dies

"Grumpy Cat, the feline famous on the internet for her permanent scowl, has died aged seven, her owners say.

A statement says she died on Tuesday following complications from a recent urinary tract infection.

The cat from Arizona had "helped millions of people smile".

Grumpy, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, went viral in 2012 after photographs of her sour expression emerged online. Her image quickly spread as a meme.

According to owner Tabitha [sic] Bundesen, her facial expression was caused by feline dwarfism."

I loved Grumpy and her sibling, too. Despite her online role, she was a sweet little cat. She went to interviews and tours so calmly. How sad.

I hope Grumpy Cat Rests In Peace. I hope she had a good life despite being taken here, there and everywhere by her owners when she probably just wanted to sleep peacefully at home.

Sleep is what they do best, isn't it? Sad to lose her, but maybe she is smiling now, when she isn't sleeping.

Awe poor GC! Grumpy Cat was my oldest daughters nickname given to her in college by her classmates because of her grumpy attitude. They gave her a stuffed grumpy cat, posters, etc. Needless to say, it took a few years for her to realize she needed to find something, anything to be happy about. Never mind that I’d been trying to help her fix that ridiculous half glass empty attitude for years. It took her peers teasing her, quite bluntly, as teens do, to make her realize Mom had a point. LOL! She’s better now for the most part because she’s been thru some adversity. True blessings are a bit more recognizable now that she’s almost 26 I guess.

It is very I love all cats. I didn’t mean to sound negative in my last post it just worried me when I saw Grumpy Cat at conventions etc in case she was sad, tired and stressed. My own cat is happiest at home and loves to sleep, be cuddled and play when he wants too. I know he wouldn’t like going to cat shows etc and prefers to be at home. It is stressful enough for him on the rare occasions when he has to go to the vet or the cattery.
