For good reason, the FCC rules stood up
We have our own news channels so I cannot see there was any thought about them broadcasting here.

‘The most bitter news’: Iran reels as more than 100 children reportedly killed in school bombing

Iran’s parents had just dropped their children off for class on Saturday morning when they found themselves racing back to school gates, as bombs began to fall across the country in a joint US-Israel attack.

At one elementary school, according to Iran’s state-controlled media, they arrived to find devastation. At least 100 children had been killed in the strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, the Mizan news agency reported, with dozens more unaccounted for.

In one video circulating on social media, purportedly showing the immediate aftermath of the strike, smoke rises from the burnt-out walls, and debris lies spread across the road. Hundreds of onlookers gathered at the site, some in obvious distress. Screams can be heard in the background. The report of the bombing, its death toll and the video’s source could not immediately be independently verified by the Guardian. Persian factchecking service Factnameh was able to cross-reference the video with other photographs of the school site, and concluded that the video was authentic. Reuters said it had also verified the footage as being from the school.

Hossein Kermanpour, spokesperson for Iran’s health ministry, said in a post to X that the bombing of the school was “the most bitter news” of the conflict so far. “God knows how many more children’s bodies they will pull from under the rubble.”

The school appears to be adjacent to a Revolutionary Guards barracks. If the death toll is confirmed, the school bombing would be the largest mass casualty event of the US-led attack so far.

Iran warned this would happen if they were attacked. There was a deal with Iran when Obama was President, and Trump got rid of that, then later claiming to want pretty much the same deal again.
Timeline of talks and threats leading up to the attack from Israel and USA....https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/2/28/us-israel-bomb-iran-a-timeline-of-talks-and-threats-leading-up-to-attacks

Trump is lying about the reason for the attack, as Iran posed no imminent threat to the USA. Trump wants their oil, and the same with the Venezuela attack.
Regime change is Illegal.

Do try to remember what happened in Iran in early 2000s....
I believe the same "regime change -- free Iranians " was the plan.
There is some identical language back then-- stop nuclear, help the Iranian people etc etc....
So where did that get us?

AND... how so so so so many Americans --from any particular side-- did conclude that all Iraq was.... It was the OIL

So now we have another US President who says : 'I only want to free the Iranian people"
In my own humble opinion..... History will definitely repeat itself here. There is more than "helping the Iranians"
I just so hope to not have massive carnage in the process.

Iran claims missile strike on US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln

The price of oil is expected to soar on Monday as the US-Israel war on Iranand the effective closure of the crucial strait of Hormuz rattles investors despite major producers’ pledges to increase their output.

The military operation’s code name, Epic Fury, provides a clue. The underlying mutual resentments that have fueled tensions between the United States and Iran are indeed epic and have simmered dangerously for nearly half a century before, finally, boiling over into open warfare.

Iran has occupied a place deep in the American national psyche since the Islamic revolution of 1979, one of the most momentous events of the 20th century; the revolution toppled the pro-western monarchy of the reigning shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and provided the inspiration for the spread of radical political Islamism with which later generations would become familiar through acts of terrorism.

It is not a channel shown in the U.K.
I listened to the BBC all day yesterday because the BBC interviews experts from diverse viewpoints. All aspects of the conflict in Iran are presented and discussed.

IMO, Trump didn’t necessarily do this for a textbook regime change. Like you said earlier, that 100% means boots on the ground and while I won’t rule that out, I don’t think they would do that before the mid-terms. I think they’re hoping that even if someone from the same regime comes into power now (which is probably the more likely scenario), that person will realize that the same thing could happen to them and so they will capitulate to negotiations and play ball with the US.
Yeah, the terms were pretty simple:

No uranium enrichment.
Limits on ballistic missiles.
Stop supporting terror proxies.

In return sanctions would be removed, and the US would assist with nuclear power reactors.

Iran's negotiation position has now been severely limited. Hopefully they'll be more amenable now.

This is that question that worries most people: what next? I assume we've all heard Trump on the news announcing that it is the responsibility of the Iranian people to change their political governance; that he created a window of opportunity and they have to act. It is not that simple.

"In the aftermath of the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint Israel-U.S. strike, the country's profound and deep divisions over his life and legacy were on full display. ... By Sunday morning, thousands of mourners had come out to public spaces, chanting Khamenei's name and wailing in grief.
...
His position as one of the most senior clerics for the worldwide community of Shia Muslims also gave him reach and influence far beyond Iran's borders. For some, Khamenei was revered as a courageous, charismatic figure who transformed their country into a regional power while refusing to be intimidated by the "imperialism" of the United States and Israel.
...
Countries with sizable Shia populations, in Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, could see Khamenei's death as an attack on the entire Shiite community, leading to an expansion of the war ... his death doesn't mean the entire regime will fall.
...
Analysts say history has shown that the use of air power alone to try to effect regime change — rather than combining it with boots on the ground — rarely, if ever, brings the desired results. There is no alternative, democratic or otherwise, ready to take over; and the U.S. record at engineering regime change is very poor."
...
He fears the Israeli and American obsession with killing Khamenei is shortsighted. Observers fear that there is no American plan beyond killing Khamenei."

Thanks very very much @otto.
This is the somber framework we will be dealing with to truly understand "what happens next".

I hope we keep this framework of possibilities in the forefront of our minds.

We have our own news channels so I cannot see there was any thought about them broadcasting here.
Mainstream US media is all corporate owned and all too often does not tell the Truth. FOX is not a 'news' station, which they admitted in a multimillion dollar lawsuit. They are an 'entertainment' station, and not allowed to broadcast in other countries, like Canada, for its false/untrue reporting. Truth is found from some outside countries, and independent news podcasts.

I personally think your comment here is unfair. ...and so American.
NOBODY is saying some people love Iran and the atrocites that have been done.

So you genuinely want a country that has killed tens of thousands of innocent people (to include countless Americans over the years) to be able to build up its weapons stockpiles, fund its terror proxies, and continue work towards the bomb?

Some of us are old enough to remember, and even have slightly personal connections to the reform and Westernization in Iran in the 1970s. The Revolution of 1979 was devastating.

I think that many people are viewing impetuous actions that could destabalize much globally. I feel your statement just glories a quick win to a very long standing future of uncertainty.

I certainly honor your right to opinions, as I do others.
I just feel a deep need to be very neutral here as things unfold.
And of course, these are my own humble and personal opinions.
I agree, except: please don't call that unfair comment "American" with too broad a brush.

Some of us in the USA want a world of civil rights and security.

MOO

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada supports the U.S. action in Iran, but Canada will not get directly involved in the conflict.

On home soil, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police says there is “no indication of any imminent threat to Canada or Canadians” based on current intelligence, but police leaders are warning the public to be vigilant as airstrikes in Iran continue for a second day.

“Experience shows that periods of geopolitical tension can sometimes inspire extremist networks, hate-motivated individuals or proxy-related threat actors to exploit these situations to incite hate-fuelled violence,” the association says. “While there is no specific threat at this time, awareness and early reporting are essential components of prevention.”

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on U.S. and European partners to start planning for the future of Iran and the region, saying the people of Iran deserved a better future after U.S. and Israeli strikes killed its supreme leader.
Merz said his government agreed with U.S. goals to end Tehran's nuclear armament and finish a "destructive game" being played by Iran, but he warned of possible dangers ahead.

The military said the Home Front Command alone has called up 20,000 reservists, primarily to support search and rescue operations. Additional reinforcements have also been deployed within the Israeli Air Force, Navy, and Intelligence Directorate.

The IDF stated that it “will prepare and provide the reserve servicemembers with all the logistical means necessary to operate under the best conditions

The "blatant killing of a sovereign leader" and the incitement of regime change were "unacceptable," Wang told Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on a phone call, according to China's state-run Xinhua news agency.

The Russian Foreign Ministry's account of the call said Wang and Lavrov denounced the strikes "carried out despite Tehran's openness to dialogue".

The ministers called for their immediate cessation "and stressed the need for a political and diplomatic settlement of all questions on the Iran issue, including ensuring the lawful interests of security of all Gulf states".

The U.S. and Israel attacked Iran early on Saturday, killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iranians to seize the moment and "take over" the government.

China's foreign ministry on Sunday also urged Chinese citizens in Iran to leave "as soon as possible", listing four land routes to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and Iraq.

This is not true. Fox news is authorized by the CRTC in Canada and is allowed, and has been for 20+ years.
