But to point fingers and say we never know what the real story is....is hypocritical. The same thing happens here everyday. Just listen to defense attorneys....prosecutors are oftentimes equally as guilty.
I disagree. I am not holding our legal system up as flawless and untainted. I am saying that their legal system is engaging in systematic abuses of women and minorities.
The reason I said that we never know the whole story is that when the press released the initial pictures/articles of the two boys, it was stated that they were being executed for raping (or murdering) a child. (Depending on which article you read.) Later, it came out that the two were gay.
The story of the young girl, Atefah, is simply mind boggling. To be hanged/strangled for the "crime" of being raped is incomprehensible.
So while our legal system is screwed up, I don't see that it's anywhere near as bad as Iran's.
Does that make sense?
