Tallaght: Twins, aged eight, and sister, 18, killed after 'violent incident' in Dublin

Officers were called to the property in the Rossfield estate in Tallaght at about 12.30am

Police in the Republic of Ireland are investigating the deaths of a teenager and her younger brother and sister following a violent incident in Dublin.

An 18-year-old woman and her brother and sister, twins aged eight, died after an incident at a house in the west of the city.

A 14-year-old boy was also taken from the scene to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
The Garda Armed Support Unit used less-than-lethal devices to arrest a man in his early 20s at the scene.

He is currently detained at Tallaght garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The mother of the children, who was not injured at the scene, was also taken to CHI and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Gardai said everyone involved is believed to be known to each other and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Awful.

I wonder if the arrested man is the boyfriend of the 18 year old?

<modsnip - quoted post was removed>

Given the age of the twins, I'd say that was their First Holy Communion day, a Catholic ceremony <modsnip> The girls dress like brides. First Communion or Confirmation first? - Catholicireland.net

This is a huge day in the young lives of Catholic children in Ireland.

A man in his 20s is still being questioned by gardaí in connection with the murders of a teenager and her younger brother and sister at their home in Tallaght yesterday morning.

Lisa Cash, 18, and her eight-year-old twin brother and sister, Christy and Chelsea Cawley, died after a man they knew came into their home at Rossfield Avenue and attacked and stabbed them.

Their 14-year-old brother managed to jump out a window and raise the alarm.

I just found out about this horrific crime late last night while looking at another story. What happened is incomprehensible. Maniacal and pure evil.

The trauma that their dear mother experienced may never heal. The horror the police, first responders, etc experienced on the scene...

This murderer must never see the light of day...needs to be locked away for ever. I don't know if Ireland has life without parole.

Any idea when the trial might be?
