Found Deceased Ireland - Elisha Gault, 14, Carrik on Suir, Tipperary, 17 March 2018

  • #21
"Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Carrick on Suir teenager Elisha Gault are appealing for 3 people to come forward.

The three, two males and one female, were believed to have been walking in the vicinity of St Molleran’s GAA field on the night of her disappearance at approximately 12.45am Sunday morning 18th March."

Hoping these kids know something and can help!

I can't get this young girl out of my head. Can anyone tell me why this is not top news and why has the family not been asked to do press conference. It seems to be all social media led. My son is the same age as Elisha - I can't begin to imagine what the family are going through.

another day had psssed and still no news regarding this poor child. My fear is she went in the river ... which has been described as fast flowing.

I also fear the guards believe this too. Why else would there not be a famiy press conference or a bigger public search of surrounding area.

I do hope I am wrong and she shows up today ... god bless her and the family

A week later and no trace to be found of Elisha.

Tipperary Civil Defence are being assisted and they posted this:

Crews involved today were, Tipperary Civil Defence land search teams, 5 boat crews from Tipperary, Kilkenny, Wexford Civil Defence equipped with Side Scan Sonar equipment for searching under water, a drone team from Wexford Civil Defence, Irish Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue117 & land search teans from Bunmahon & Tramore Coast Guard units, Wexford Civil Defence Swiftwater Responder Team, 3 Dogs and handlers from Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland) , Waterford MarineSAR, Cahir River Rescue, Mallow Search and Rescue and local groups.

The search dog team posted the following:

SARDA dog teams assisted Tipperary Civil Defence and the Gardaí with a ongoing search in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary over the weekend. Michael Grant and search dog Ziggy did a small search late on Sunday evening, and yesterday Eadaoin O'Gorman with search dog Murphy and Gerry Tobin with search dog Dex joined Mick & Ziggy to search three woodland areas. Unfortunately there has been no result so far.

Sorry as that is not from a paper but it is from the official pages of the search and rescue teams involved- not rumour etc.

MUM'S OPEN LETTER Mum of Elisha Gault claims tragic teen was ‘sexually abused and cyber bullied’ before her death

[...]

Her heartbroken mum Grainne has revealed that her daughter began to struggle in 2012, and later disclosed she had been abused by a man.

In an open letter on Facebook, she said: “Elisha Gault is my 3rd born daughter, who was born 12/4/2003.

“She was a funny kid, always up to mischief, she was so friendly, she would come in from the cul d sac she grew up in, telling me about all the new friends she had made, all the neighbours knew her by name because she always had a smile and a bit of chat for everyone, young and old.

“Without knowing why, Elisha began to struggle from 2012, she withdrew and her behaviour changed and we became increasingly concerned.

“Myself and her father were extremely active in her life even though we split in 2010, we had a great co-parenting model and Elisha was very close to her father and adored him.

“After a few years of trying to understand why Elisha had been acting out, she finally disclosed that in 2012, she was sexually abused.”

Elisha, who was just 15 when she died, first attempted to take her own life last year, after being cyber-bullied.

Grainne said it resulted in her “locking herself in our bathroom at home, placing herself in the airing cupboard, consuming paracetamol and bleach in an attempt to end her suffering.
