Yes - timeframe for doc was ambitious - new info came in and continues to come in so a lot of chopping & changing - but we are in doubt about the identity of the person behind Raonaids murder.

she wasnt punched in the face and the female suspect was cleared on DNA analysis.
Correction on that - possibly punched (chipped tooth never recovered) or she chipped it when stumbling - she was certainly partially strangled.

Just to say it’s inconclusive a kitchen knife was used. One stab wound to the abdomen penetrated to the depth of 5 inches, no hilt bruising so length of blade was 6 inches or so. Our findings suggest it was more likely a hunting knife. Both suspects had a fascination with knives, one from a very young age. Both were known to carry them for “self protection”. Crucially, one of the POI was certainly in the area at the time of the murder. Let’s call him S1. The police know this, a SW publication in 2010 highlighted it. The other suspect, S2, was in the company of Raonaid in July of that year. July 29th was the night she sought sanctuary in a friend’s apartment. Something spooked her as she made her way home. We are not sure if S2 was responsible for this. S2 was reported when the photofit released by the guards piqued the attention of people who knew him. He was subsequently invited to have a chat with the guards & he was cleared on an alibi. Puzzlingly, the photofit matched 3 people further confusing the authorities. Back to S1. He was 100% in the area on the night of the murder. To say this guy was unhinged would be too kind. He stayed a suspect for 10 years, questioned over that time about the murder. His explanation about that night is littered with lies. Tellingly he lived not too far from the murder scene. I think today he’s still a POI but hard evidence is lacking. I’ve no idea if authorities were waiting on science to catch up from 1999. We are not even sure what DNA evidence they have. I mentioned another person who resembled “oasis/nerd guy” composite. yes, we have a name but he has disappeared and probably lives abroad. He knew S1. There’s zero online info or clues as to where he is or what he does. Frustratingly S1 knew two brothers who lived near the scene or approx location. They were questioned about the veracity of S1s movements. We are still looking for info on them. So, I think this case is not lost. The top cops involved have either retired or passed away. One or two are still on the books. Time buries everyone. But I think there will be a confession and a prosecution.
Correction - it was a serrated kitchen knife “grabbed in haste”.

you make it sound like its an open and shut case...i wish it was that easy! .maybe you know more than me...which i doubt as ive been working with people on this for the last year...we've come across all kinds of theories/suspects/and read everything from the court material, archival, online, and have spoken to retired guards. As for your question and i presume we're talking about the taxi suspect and female suspect...shes not involved with him today...we dont even know if they were an ''item''...as for the family...theres been some issues but i dont know how they are today...there was no appeal in 2023 and this year is the 25th anniversary....
Update - taxi suspect (innocent anyway) passed away last year
