“Robert Funke was last seen near on-campus accommodation at the University of Limerick on November 5.

The 23-year-old, who is reportedly a master's student at the university from Germany, is described as being approximately six foot in height with a slim build and green eyes. Robert has brown hair which has recently been dyed black.

Heartbreaking tributes paid to student after body discovered on Inis Oírr

The search for missing University of Limerick student Robert Funke has been stood down following the discovery of a body on Inis Oírr on Monday.

Following the extensive search, which included the riverbank along the university, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed the discovery of a body on Inis Oírr, in Galway on Monday, the smallest of the Aran Islands.

Tributes have poured in from classmates and friends of Robert online following the heartbreaking news.
