If we had heard about this from someone else many would be questioning why the DT hasn't mentioned it. MOO!

As far as Lisa's room, the family has made few changes, Picerno said.

"Baby Lisa's room is pretty much as it was before she was taken. Police did not really take that much out of the home," he said.

If Baby Lisa's room is "pretty much as it was before she was taken", does that mean the storage containers & the baby bathtub that were filmed stacked in her crib were in her crib before she was "taken"?

Does that also mean that the black trash bags that were duct-taped over the nursery window were there before she was taken?

As far as the 100% back to normal statement. I really think it's just the words of an unsophistocated man (JI) who isn't used to making public statements. I think in his attempt at giving an intelligent sounding reply to questions of how they are holding up, he only succeeds in putting his foot in his mouth by saying the wrong thing. I really don't think he meant that they wanted to forget that the baby every existed and move on like nothing has happened.

This is all JUST MY OPINION of course. :seeya:

With regard to the "every day is getting better" and "back to 100%" comments, remember these are the words of the parents' attorney and are probably (hopefully, anyway) just very poorly paraphrased by that attorney.

There is so much hate on this thread....its really sad.

I will admit that I am NOT a fan of any of the current attorneys or 'investigators'. None of them are doing anything that I can see for their clients, only for their own advancement.

JP: Yes. We have. We've been in constant contact, almost on a daily basis, particularly with the FBI on all of the new leads that we get, via texts, via emails and sometimes phone calls. So the FBI specifically we have been working closely with.

This is the second time I have seen/heard a quote regarding the B/I team having a good rapport with FBI. Wouldn't FBI and LE be working hand in hand?

I notice that Steve Young did not say 'we have moved on' about Jersey this time.
I believe that the lawyers and BS did meet with this girl and I don't think it's a stretch that she has nothing to gain by telling them this info, so she probably was told it from someone else...whether it's true or not is another story. No one has said that he was seen back around the neighbourhood, they just referenced the vigil for timing. He could have had that conversation with unknown guy anywhere.
I have to wonder now about LE reporting that they were looking for mystery guy to interview him...We all assumed Dane, but according to Dane, he has been in contact with LE all along! Things that make me go hmmmm.

As for getting back to normal, my assumption would be that he meant being back in the house, getting back to work, carrying on because there is nothing else they can do at this point since they have two other children to take care of.
All the above is just my opinion, although it is sometimes prompted by other posters :)

I'm right there with ya, IDM.

Did MK ask the attorney how they were doing? If so, maybe the attorney thought there might be people out there that genuinely cared about how the parents were doing so he answered the question optimistically. I think everyone knows that they will never be 100% and to make something of the attorney saying that is just not fair and reading too much into it. jmo

Sherbie, I agree with your post.

To me this statement sounds fairly articulate, more like the phrasing of a defense attorney who is not doing his clients any favors as far as public perception is concerned.. All MOO

I find hate harsh, I guess I dont hate them, I hate the fact that Lisa is somewhere and no one knows if she is alive, warm, fed, diapers changed, loved, held, still has her cold, and safe. The trickle of info is never good imo, and it seems like the lawyers put news out there like feeding fish in a fishbowl. Maybe its their way of keeping this in the media. I dont know. I was watching interogations on 48 hours and in my opinion, LE knows what they are doing. That certainly would not deter too many parents whose child was missing.

Well, they didn't say "it's identical to how it looked when she was taken". I would think it's possible storage bins were in the room but not in the bed, and there was no plastic over the windows. To return it to "identical" would be a matter of less than 2 minutes - so that's "pretty much the same".

IMHO.

We also have to realize that this is not an exact quote, but the reporters words. We don't know what was actually said.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but if this is in regards to the "normal" comment those were Picerno's words. We may not know exactly what was said between Picerno and Irwin but we know what Picerno said today.

I was just thinking about that while I was away from the computer. Might be lawyer paraphrasing, and it might be better for DB/JI to have them STHU too. moo

I can see that as well. Nevertheless, I think this statement was "lost in translation." And with public perception for the parents permanently tarnished, nothing they say can possibly come out in an acceptable way. I do think it was a poor choice of words, regardless of who actually said them, but I don't think it was meant to be a callous statement.

This is a spoken interview - my guess is, if it were released in a written statement he could choose every word and phrase to be exactly what he wants to say.

It's hard to be that careful in speech.

I think they're doing a great job on public perception, and I'm glad they're speaking out.

They're pointing out two things: there are still lots of questions unanswered and they're working hard to chase down leads, and when they get there LE has been there too and is working on the same leads.

That's important, and helpful information no matter what side you stand on, IMHO.

That is a really good point (about LE), shows they are all-over everything:gavel: leaving no stone unturned.
