Is a burqa incompatible with French nationality?

Our ex Prime Minister said it well in a speech on immigration and what is expected of people from other cultures who chose to live in Australia.

This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have
sought freedom"

"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you
wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!"

"Most Australians believe in God This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."

"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."

"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this
planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.

"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,

'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."

"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."

I LOVE this post Dingo!!!!

I think I'll retire to Australia. Sounds like heaven!!

This must be a new view. What about all of the Muslim women who are already there?

They denied nationality that is sthg different from denying entry. Many people live in France without having the nationality. It doesn't match French culture that's all. It's normal that they don't want these people to represent French people.

Thank you! The French have never shyed away from pissing people off, have they?

...

BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO:clap::clap::clap:

Think your ex Prime Minister would like to a presidential advisor here? ;)
Or maybe he could come here and write an amendment to the Constitution? :)

Married to a French national, the woman arrived in France in 2000, speaks good French and has three children born in France.
Thought to be aged 32, she wears a burka that covers all her body except her eyes, and lives in 'total submission' to her husband and male relatives, according to social services.

Gee.... what better way to send a message that "submission" to male relatives is unacceptable in French society... by denying the woman a chance to become a citizen while her husband is a proud French National.

The woman is victimized TWICE and the actual OFFENDING party gets to remain ultimately superior to this woman who now is not even worthy to be a citizen of the country she lives in & where her children are natural born citizens.

Sadly, this submissive woman has been kicked hard & will only be allowed to fight this crazy ruling IF her male relatives decide she can.

You're right Li Mom. It's too bad her husband was allowed to be a citizen. Seems to me the real place to start this backlash is with the males of the cult.

Well, we don't know if he was a natural born citizen OR naturalized.... to me it makes more sense to talk about stripping away the citizenship of people that are CREATING the problem.

What 'crime' has the woman committed that is so offensive that any country would deny her rights?

We'll see no changes in the way these people treat women IF we allow them to keep trampling on her.

I do hope the French courts/laws address this unfair decision & don't show the world that they enable oppression of women.
