Is anyone else as confused as I am??

Betsy, Great post and I agree that could have happened. I have a question, what car would Gerry have put Madeleine into? They did not rent the Renault until 25 days after she went missing? Was there another car available to them?

Rhett, just for arguments sake...does it make sense that NONE of the Tapas 7 would have had a car?? Maybe Gerry could have said he needed to run an errand and could he borrow a car? I also read that the Ocean Club had vehicles available for guests to us.

AND....there are many places within a very short walk/jog that are very remote and desolate. And there are many abandoned wells and old viaducts. And there are caves on the beach. And there have been reports that DNA (blood?) was found in a second apartment at the Ocean Club. Could that be one of the apartments rented by one of the other of the Tapas 7?

Shall I go on?

I agree, Jdee, we may never know, unfortunately.

Just want to reiterate that obviously I have no idea what happened, nor does anyone here. I am not anti-McCann--in fact, my heart breaks for them regardless.

I just think, IF they were involved, this is the only way I can wrap my mind around what happened. I don't believe for one minute they acted with malice, and I don't believe, if given the chance, that they wouldn't turn back the clock and become unknowns again.

There is no happy ending to this one, I'm afraid, and it's really getting to me. May need to take a break here....

I agree Betsy. It is so sad. Even IF she was found today unless she has been in the arms of a happy loving family... I dont' see a happy ending.

Absolutely. I see you're in Denver, like I am. We can hardly imagine life without a car! :) But it's very different in other places. Especially when you go to a resort that has everything you need inside its walls, and transportation to go wherever else you might want to go ...

We always get cars, though ... even in Europe. Most people recommend using trains and other public transport, but I always want my independence.

Every time a TV camera was in my face, I would forget about my 'dignified alabaster image' and use the opportunity to beg the kidnapper to let the child go, they don't make appeals anymore for Madeleine's safe return.

High strangeness.

There are a few known facts in this case:

1. The children were left alone.
2. The reports about who checked on them and when seem to be conflicting.
3. Statistically speaking, children under 5 years of age are killed more often by a parent than anyone else.

As for the rest, who knows.

Susan Smith: "A black man took my children."

Patsy Ramsey: "Someone has taken my daughter."

Kate McCann: "They've taken her."

My gut instinct all along has been that there is no way they could have killed her hidden her and then disposed of the body without making a mistake or being caught out

They are of course guilty of leaving th kids alone - but that is a another issue in my mind - Did they murder her ?

I still think that a planned abduction was done by someone who had been watching them for a few days . To me this is the only logical conclusiion. Somwhere on the home page of this site someone says that a child can be moved a mile a minute - It would have taken a fews seconds to pick up a sleeping Maddy - move her to a waiting car and then out of town fast .

In two hours they would have been across the border into spain - then anywhere

Until I see firm evidence , that will hold up in court - then I am very much not guilty
