Is Geraldo's Prod Co Paying For the Def? UPDATED 1-09 Entertainment Deal Allegations

  • #141
WHO is giving the pictures to JB to sell to the media? We know KC doesn't have access to them. I'm confused by this. If it is the A's, why isn't their attorney handling this and the income going thru him?
While watching NG this eve, I really felt like Kathi B was trying to say, without saying it, that it's possible that the A's through someone connected to the A's, were responsible for tipping off the SA. This is my own personal perception however, I don't want to start a rumor. I can see how BC could want to work to make sure his clients get a bigger piece of the entertainment media pie.

(my bolding)

Is this the $5000 that Mark NeJame was allegedly paid, then recently "gave away" to Kronk?

Mark Nejame was paid by the Never Lose Hope Foundation, another questionable entity.

I would imagine that there was a significant amount of exchange of photos and videos during the time before Casey was arrested for the murder. I can't see where Conway could represent the Anthony's against Baez utilizing property of his client in the support of his client's case. In other words, since George and Cindy have repeatedly stated that Casey loved to take pictures of Caylee, it would be difficult for them to prove that those photos weren't the ones taken by Casey. Therefore, Casey would "own" the images. Seems to me if the Anthony's surreptitiously contacted the SA's office to report that he's selling the pics, it's because they themselves had the idea to do so and went to find them........and found them missing.

Now that's some kinda planning in advance.

There seems to be alot of connections between the people of the entertainment/clubs/businesses in Orlando...Fusian, Universal, Lexus, Full Sail University etc. lots posted on this entire website. And they all are questionable and nefarious. One bigwig has even landed himself in jail. They all probably want a piece of this action. I have googled all of them at different times with each other. Always find one connection or another. Anyone try connecting it with the mob? (Don't want my computer confiscated, lol)

As a rule: As an attorney you're not supposed to FEED the media, get paid and then try to get a change of venue because of the media! It's insane!

And further red/bold by me.

So, there are multiple companies supporting the coffers. Wish I knew who to boycott.

Holy cripe! You touched the red button too! <<ducking>>... <<red flash bursting behind me>>

The 5,000 NeJame was paid came from the Never Lose Hope Foundation. This can be confirmed on NeJame's website. He hasn't made any secret of it.

It was how KB made it sound tho. She was vaguely pointing it in the direction of the A fam or someone related to their camp.

I would expect the Investigator's at Lamar's office to seek to interview T. Black, if they haven't already. If he invokes, all Hell will break loose. This is why they have layed low on him until now...
Yup. Yup. T. Black is about to hear the inside of his head rattle while they shake him up (or is shake him down a better way to put it?).

(Can't use both names...have to use an intial on one or just initials.)

Who owns the PI's tapes? He works for the Anthonys. Does that mean they are legally the owners?

Not unless they have a contract with him giving them exclusive rights to any video or photographs. I know their lawyer claims the As own them, but I haven't seen him produce any contract to show that.

That is what I understood as well. BC has been saying for awhile now that "they" want to make sure that nobody profits off of the death of Caylee (cough cough). Translated I believe this means, "they" want to make sure noone ELSE profits off of the death of Caylee.

Wicked thought, but maybe Casey was telling the truth for once when on the taped video just released she said "Dad, you don't understand, I'm NOT in control!"

When KC was released from jail from LP, soon afterwards she was seen going into Baez's office when LA dropped her off carrying a large bag, it was speculated that is when the photo's/videos were sold. Soon the 20/20 episode was taped and released, who received that $200,000 ABC finally acknowledge was paid for licensing fees? If KC is the Mom.... I assume she got the $$$$$$$$$ and that went to her defense fund. JMO

I believe LTM is owned by ABC and when the petition was being circulated the response from Lifetime was a movie was not in the works (at this time.)

OK So if everyone on the defense team including JB had to sign a confidentiality agreement with the third party who is footing the bill on this one...where does it stand with the court? If JB or anyone from his team divulges the name or names of the party...they are subject to being sued. How is this going to work? Can the Judge just come out with it? (Oh, I hope so!! I want to know!!)

Say it does come out who is paying for the defense team and all hell breaks loose...Will they all be taken off the case or just JB? Will she be then handed over to a public defender or will someone else just take over who is on the defense team (if they can prove they didn't work for the third party)? So many questions!!

If this story is true, I'm not so sure Geraldo would be financing this entire fiasco all alone. I can think of others....

Speaking of who needs to get paid aside from lawyers, did anyone notice JB/defence has hired a publicist? Who's paying that tab?
http://www.prnewschannel.com/absolutenm/templates/?a=1116&z=4

This company may stand in high regard. I have no idea. Publicists are generally hired to clean up the image of a company. They often feed the media with "news" to sway public opinion, and employ other means to lead public perception toward whatever they've been hired to do. Nothing illegal, but ethical? Undecided. But why would the defense would require a publicist in regard to a 22 year old allegedly involved in the killing of her daughter is very questionable.

That tells me its not about "truth".....I believe JB intends to keep his client "in the news" for as long as possible by deliberate delay of the process, and then at the 11th hour he'll let her plea out. Over and done! Just my opinion.

I'm glad something is finally coming out on this. I've been wanting to see something about the money trail for a long time. I will have to dig this out of my files but a while ago, I was trying to find info on any possible connections between KFN and NLHF and ran across something (easy to google) on the internet by some folks who were a tad worried about both. Within the information, they had traced Todd B's media company AIM Productions to an address in an office building in KY. Within that same building, if I remember correctly, are many other front "addresses" where mail is collected and one of them was for an executive with the company that owns the tabloid empire in Florida of The Enquirer, Globe, etc.

I thought at the time that first, it was rather odd for a defense attorney to have a "publicist" so early on when he had no visible means of payment from his client and also that the possible connections between the publicist and a private tabloid media empire were also a bit strange. I also found it weird that Black, who was supposedly "fired" or reassigned after his slip up referring to Caylee in past tense late last year, is somehow back on the scene.

The arrangement for payment of defense experts, etc. could be a straight-up fee, and they may not be considering their own book deals or publicity. I am wondering how many millions of dollars are generated in sales of supermarket tabloids for a case that is drawn out forever before it goes to trial and has every possible twist and turn imaginable? The outcome of the trial is of no concern to such an organization, just simply prolonging public interest to generate sales would be good enough. I'm sure that these magazines (and I use the term loosely) have sales departments that can forecast (based on other high profile cases such as OJ and Jon Benet) increased circulation revenue very accurately.

I would love to see the sleuthers on here start working on a possible money trail (if it has not already been done) between Black's AIM productions and our friends in Lantana, FL.

Oh, I also meant to add that revenue generated by ratings increases for networks is generally reflected in ad costs, which may be harder to forecast.

Although tabloids can also translate circulation numbers into ad costs, it seems they can more directly profit by direct sales. Something also to consider when looking for who stands to profit the most the most quickly.

Who was the company backing Vergie in the Anna Nicole S. fiasco? Sun something? They were paying for her attorney fees and everything else so she could get the baby and they could get the rights. Backfired on them...thank goodness...but I could see that company latching onto this case.

:slap::slap:If the amount of money made off of any media (pictures, video, interviews, etc.) related to this case is re-directed to a charitable organization, that chooses to pay for high profile experts, how would you find the money trail. Maybe the only money the attorney, or any experts for that matter, is making, would be in the form of a tax deduction, rather than profit or pro bono. Fee's maybe going to pass through to a charitable foundation of some sort. Just Hypothesizing of course. JHOO.

Congress just enacted some legislation this fall that will require non-profits to be much more transparent and circumspect with internal costs. I seriously doubt that a legitimate nfp would be able to justify famous defense experts for anyone. A private foundation might be less subject to scrutiny, and is ususally required to donate a certain amount of the principle, but they also have to file paperwork on where the money is donated and usually take pains to make sure it is to a legitimate source.

I am not sure how a tax deduction could be earned by an attorney that way. Although pro-bono work is frequently done by many law firms, I would suspect that their own tax attorneys would advise against something of that nature - it just sounds too easy to trace. But hey, this is not a big prestigious firm we are talking about. I'm sure there are barracudas out there just circling to audit the law firm of JB once this is over.
