ITA, though if the property owner decided otherwise for whatever reason, I'd completely understand.

This is why I think a memorial garden named Caylee's Garden, in a public park, near a children's playgound would be more appropriate. Celebrating Caylee's life instead of the place where her remains were found. I'm sure a playground in the park is something Caylee enjoyed.
It may not have to be taken down if Padilla buys the land and puts up some type of permanent memorial to Caylee on it.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Celebrity Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla is interested in purchasing the land up for sale where the remains of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony were discovered in December.
The asking price for the land is almost $90,000. Last year, Padilla put up $500,000 to get Caylee's mother, Casey, out of jail.

This warmed my heart... hope he does and treats it with dignity. I have faith in this move, do it Leonard!
Mark K. thinks the "Park is a horrible Idea
I personally think LP is doing this just to get more publicity
Absolutely its time! Maybe a small cross placed there is definitely acceptable but we all have to 'let go' of this child as she is long gone from this earth. It is not fair for the neighbors nor the children that see it daily in that area.
I don't live there but gosh, my heart would be crushed each day if I had to drive by it. Then it would turn to frustration, then anger.... that its still there for little children to see & be reminded of their own 'mortality', that I'm fighting traffic and strangers want to take a picture of where a child was murdered.
I think sites like this are sacred and should be left 'at peace'. No need to bring anymore attention to it.
Huge hugs to you! You've done a great job raising a confident young lady who knows scars don't define a person. Well, done Mom!

I really appreciated Mark K.'s comments tonight on NG. It was very interesting to me to hear his and his wife's feelings and views on the subject of memorials. I've spouted off my own opinions, which mean nothing, but to hear it from someone relevant was facinasting to me.
And I say more power to him!:clap::clap:I agree that the children attending school across the street and passing by the area each day on their school bus can't be a healthy or a good thing. I wonder of the kids, who at the elementary school age can't fully understand what is going on, must drive by and think, " humm...I sure wish I had that stuffed animal or that one or that balloon" or the like.
I think LP's intentions are good. But I think moreso, he would revel in the idea of making a big doo ha ha of a memorial site that CA would have to if not see everyday, KNOW was right around the corner from her house. He would want her to see a daily reminder of what her monster daughter did to that poor baby. I think if he could buy the house across the street from theirs, he would in a heartbeat and put a bill board in the lawn facing their home.![]()
