No, I do not think he is qualified for a case such as this.

JB is a horrible attorney...which, in this case, makes him the perfect attorney.

ITA. Everything that JB has gotten in court is what he was intitled to. Everything else was tossed out because he either filed it wrong or had no right to and got chastised for it.

Anthony attorney sets up new tip line

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The attorney for the mother of a missing Florida girl charged with her murder has set up a new tip line to receive leads that he believes will confirm his client did not kill her daughter...

I have a feeling the phone will be eerily quiet...

:nuts:Since when does a defense attorney set up a "hotline" for tips to prove his client did not kill her child?!!

I did not vote, it is moot at this point, geez!

We are also told investigators took soil samples from the Anthony home over the weekend. Once defense attorney Jose Baez found out that was taken as part of the evidence, he sent out his own team and they collected soil from the home for there forensic experts.

LOL

I think he's an idiot, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not qualified.

I don't think he's done anything that would get a case reversed, for example. I think he's got a sense of entitlement similar to his client's that might irk the wrong judge---but that's about the extent of it.

Oh, gosh time passes me by. Supposedly this was when JB said KC whispered to him "That she was guilty of anything and she wanted to hold her head high"...Funny, cause she never lifted her head during the whole catwalk hoopla.

great typo ;)

She was too busy snuggling her face into JB's neck.

I'm really thinking this guy is whinny and lazy..seems like the only thing original he has done (per this case only) was set up the "tip line"---everything else he appears to have gathered from LE.....even the judge told him to do some leg work....when does he do it???????

Why doesn't he save himself time and follow the backward approach and actually produce a ZFG??????-----

I will admit when this all started, I thought he was good. I thought he was playing some sort of game and that he was shady, and shady, unfortunately translates to good a lot of the time in the legal world. But the more I have watched this idiot...I think somewhere I actually feel sorry for him. I think he is way out of his comfort zone and realizing the publicity may not have been worth it. I see the looks on his face when he is speaking and he looks to me like a sinking ship. I think that I would have that look on my face if someone called me tonight and said "Hey, I know you don't have a license to practice law, but there is a funny little loophole and you have won the "I know legal mumbo-jumbo" lottery and you have just been assigned to defend KC or be shot." I think she keeps him because who else would want to have her, really (win/loss records matter) and this leaves open appeals for ineffective assistance of counsel. It's all a game to stay in the spotlight forever. His client is a Sociopath. Textbook

I can not think of a better lawyer for KC's defense.

She certainly deserves him and all he has to offer! Which is substandard representation.

Remember, God don't sleep!!!!!

I think that he's an ijut so, my answer to the thread question would have to be a resounding "yes"!

MOO

I don't know how much experience JB has with capital cases. But it appears to me one as complicated and confusing as this is she needs a much more experience lawyer. JB is in way over his head.

Poor job, and I'm glad.

I don't want her to get off.

Put aside your feelings for his client for the moment...do you feel JB can provide a proper defense for KC. My personal feeling is that due to his inexperience he is setting her up for an appeal down the road.

I honestly believe he is either.......A bumbling idiot OR.......positively brilliant. With him it's going to have to be a wait and see. I do absolutely think there is a method to his madness. Bolded a few KCisms for dramatic effect or is it "affect"? Oh he** she wouldn't know the difference anyway.

I think that he's lucky that so many "experts" are willing to provide their services merely for publicity otherwise he'd be screwed. The Todd Black situation IMO is a perfect example of his incompetence.

I'm with the "bumbling idiot" theory. I truly think she is so used to other people "cleaning up" after the messes she creates she has not even considered his incompetence and how it can affect the outcome of the trial.
