Plus the neighboring countries don't want them. Most already have refugee "camps" from previous conflicts plus they've been known to try and overthrow the governments of the countries that offer them refuge. So even if they could leave, they really don't have anywhere to go.
Very good point

Armed Palestinian groups contain their fair share of people with vested interests in a continuous conflict: Why be a plumber when one can earn more as a 'fighter' (that can go years with out having to fight)?

As you stated neighboring countries have learned that Palestinians refugees can include large numbers of bored, heavily armed and unemployed (able) young men who then start to uhmm..... "drift". Local welcome mats are worn out.

Honestly? Some Hamas spokesperson today just blamed the citizens of Gaza for the atrocities on the Israeli people. He deflected the blame on his own "people" who are supposedly victims of some contrived " Settler Terrorism", stating that his Hamas peeps weren't responsible.....just the oppressed citizens he was fighting for. Make that make sense, please!

It's impossible to make sense of words spoken with a forked tongue.

imo

Can anyone share their understanding of the 'safe rooms' I think they're called in some of the Israeli houses? Do they come standard in newer houses? Or are they personal choice additions made by the owners.
How inpenetrable are they?
I watched an interview posted earlier in this thread of a couple with their 10 day old baby and the woman's mother in one house. They got in the safe room that is designed to protect again incoming rockets not armed home invaders/terrorists. It sounded similar to our tornado shelters here. It sounds like it can be unlocked from the outside so if your house is leveled or damaged then rescuers can unlock it and get to you. Again they are not designed for keeping people out in an invasion type incident. So they could hear the terrorists and they had to hold the handle up to keep them from coming into the safe room. When they couldn't get it, they set the house on fire with the people in the safe room.

From what I understand, basically they say Hamas are not part of the Palestinian people - they are like evil overlords (?) And the Palestinian people are basically sheep with absolutely no control of their lives or well being. So although Hamas are very very bad nobody can do anything about them since going after them will hurt the innocent people of Gaza - who absolutely cannot help themselves or fight alongside others to wipe out the Hamas and give themselves a better life.
Yeah.
If any of this were true, the Palestinians would not have been celebrating in the streets, they would not be cheering as they watched hostages wedged on motorcycles amid their captors, they would not be dancing and praising their god for the deaths of children and the elderly.

Correction!

Poland's military planes have been doing flights to take Poles for several days now.
As I reported twice here.

Facts,
Not fiction :)

Curious to know how the terrorists chose which people to outright murder and which ones to abduct?

Were a greater number of people abducted from the music festival (lots of young attractive females) than from other places where they abducted the elderly and small children?

Did they take the easiest, lightest people to carry off, or chose people who did not look Israelis, to raise the bargaining chips with other countries? imo, speculation.
I deeply suspect that...... things got very confusing in very violent ways, very fast:

- The terrorists very likely included "official" HAMAS fighters, members of smaller groups, and opportunistic individuals bent on mayhem who joined the attack once HAMAS opened it up to "anybody with a rifle".

- One footage I saw at the festival featured uniformed Hamas fighters with military gear, a fighter with gear, but no uniform (smaller group?), a fighter whose equipment was a gun, T shirt and flip flops, and.... 3-4 unarmed looters.

My bet is that the decision to murder or take hostages depended on:

- The feelings of HAMAS unit commanders, the ability of HAMAS units commanders to control their men, whether murderously inclined individuals reached "critical mass" and "fed off" each other in certain areas, what members of other groups and lone wolves (flip flop man?) were inclined to do. etc. etc.

In short, it was probably very random with no logic behind the decision to murder or take hostages.

Secretary State Blinken in Tel Aviv says Israeli counterparts showed him photos of Israeli soldiers “decapitated”, babies “riddled with bullets,” “harkens back to ISIS.” Describes feelings as “overwhelming.” “This is a moment of moral clarity.”

"The United States will discuss with countries in the region the unconditional release of Hamas prisoners. I will meet with the Jordanian King, Palestinian Authority President Abbas, and the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Egypt, and Qatar.

The HAMAS fighters in this initial assault also were most likely those who volunteered for a suicide mission, where in terrorist theory they get quick ascents into heaven for their work, should they not make it back into Gaza.

As their mission was also clearly pre-planned for the hostage capture, no doubt spreading fear, horror, and infamous acts was all part of the intent, rather than just stealing vehicles or property or holding a specific land area.

Sick:

Professor Dr Kumar claimed the gunning down of innocent Israelis at the Supernova outdoor rave was a ‘consequence’ for ‘partying on stolen land’ while Dr Ahmad called on students to show solidarity with the 'Palestinian struggle'.

How can anyone even contemplate supporting this? I have no solidarity for people who support these atrocities. Babies beheaded in their beds? No matter what side of the fence you fall, there is zero justification for what Hamas has/is doing. None. (For the record my feet are firmly planted on Israels side of said fence)

Though the terrorists committed plenty of horrific acts, the last word on the beheaded babies is muddy:

- Official IDF military says they cannot confirm it.
- White House now says Biden never saw photos of be headed babies (even though he said he did).

I dont support HAMAS, but I also do not take sides on the over all conflict (going back to 1948).

A massacre is a rather stiff penalty for a "party", isn't it?

The more the 'Hamas supporters' attempt to justify this, the more absurd they become.

Someone rather famous once said this:

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt -"

20/20 special report

There is chilling footage of 2 of the Hamas terrorists as they approached and breached the gate of a community near the border. Interviews from family members of known hostages. Video of the aftermath of the homes that were invaded. These terrorists were not looking for soldiers to kill, they were killing without pause anyone they saw. They took children, babies and the elderly, none of which pose any threat to them or their evil plan. This was the plan and it's horrific.
